He just fired his defence minister, as associated with rampamt corruption within ministry. The entire customs department was fired just days earlier.
how he can assure that some of those weapons dont end up being sold to africa and elsewhere to guerilla and terrorist organisations.
So far nobody from outside audit those weapons and money donated to ukraine within the last year and in previous uears.

War is a perfect timing for military and criminals to engage on armaments black market.

It would seem that the Russian military had a substantial headstart over their Ukrainian counterpart.

I doubt they want to know, as it would become common knowledge and they'd have to do something about it.

Given the length of time even an experienced pilot takes to upgrade to being good enough to take one of those modern fighters into combat, is Zelensky admitting the war is going to last a very long time, and if he is, his greatest fear must be that western governments will soon be unable to continue paying to support him. I believe the UK government has paid at least 2.3 BILLION quid on support for Ukraine while saying they have NO money for nurses or ambulance drivers- that is unsustainable IMO.

The UK is already the second largest military donor to Ukraine, committing £2.3bn in 2022.

France's Emmanuel Macron and Germany's Olaf Scholz restated their belief that Russia must not win the war.

If Russia does win, will they resign?

Perhaps the best way to prevent WW3 is to arm Ukraine well enough for them to WIN and that includes Crimea. Putin wants the west to be afraid of his threats. If it turns out he isn't bluffing we're headed to WW3 anyway (including China) as if Putin wins there is no way he stops at Ukraine.

There's that very big word again IF.

Mr Zelensky said France and Germany had potential to be "game-changers" in the battle against Russia by providing Ukraine with battle tanks, modern fighter planes and long-range missiles.

Soooo, if they give Zelensky long range missiles and he uses them against Moscow, what guarantees are there that Putin will not regard that as an attack by France or Germany and decide to send some in the direction of Paris or Berlin?

The escalation proceeds apace and if wiser heads do not prevail, how long before it becomes a full on war between Russia and NATO?

Given the commitment by certain western leaders to win this conflict by supplying weapons etc, if it becomes apparent that Ukraine is losing, IMO they will seek to win by supplying even more dangerous weapons, till the inevitable consequences occur.

Viktor!

I wonder how Viktor Bout is doing. Last I read, he pledged undying love for Mr. Putin, who now owns him, and rushed off to Ukraine saying he truly believed in what Putin was doing there. He didn't specifically mention utter human brutality and destruction. I assume he is on a special mission.

But therein lies your difference. Putin employing the most corrupt people imaginable for his illegal war. Zelensky ridding his country of corruption.
