Scott
The White House announced Friday that President Joe Biden ordered the military to down what it described as a “high-altitude object” hovering over Alaska earlier in the day. “The Department of Defense was tracking a high-altitude object over Alaska airspace in the last 24 hours,” National Security Council coordinator for strategic communications John Kirby told reporters when asked about rumors of another suspected Chinese surveillance balloon. The high-altitude object, Kirby said, was flying at an altitude of 40,000 feet and “posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flight.” https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/10/politics/biden-alaska-military-down/index.html

Hakuna Matata
It is not so easy to down it at the altitude of 25 kilometers above the ground. This kind of balloon is ideal for intercepting radio communications in the radius of 500 kilometers or more. 1

"as has been made clear" by who? by your own speculation? By the Biden activist media? What has concerned me since this chaotic Biden balloon saga started was the ridiculous yet prevailing narrative that objects can not, nor should not be downed over land - even sparsely populated badlands, and that (IMO because of how it played out) it is better to down objects over the sea. Now this is problematic as searching the sea bed for minute pieces of whatever it was is difficult. Yet if it had been downed over land a 7 year old with a gun dog could easily have located it, and nothing would be lost due to being buried in sediment or floated away. They would have "the opportunity to study the capabilities of the previous balloon's payload" with it nice and dry sitting on their desks, rather than waterlogged and spread out over a vast area of silty sea floor. It made no sense. And now finally, there is an admission that the narrative was nonsense and of course an object could and should be downed ASAP.

Is it difficult to understand NSA's wish to track the ballon, the digital transfers, and the targets after they concluded it was of no danger! The last UFO with no id, was in an altitude it could be a possible danger to air traffic! Two different objects, and possible just a dummy provocation. The war is on! Foreign Surveillance intelligence creating political noise as well public chaos with very little effort, because of internal problems. They targeting Usa' weakest point, the trust in their leaders. The biggest danger is not the provocations, is all of you who think you know better than NSA and the Government. He said that the object was flying at 40,000ft (12,000m) over the northern coast of Alaska. It had already flown across Alaska at a speed of 20 to 40mph (64km/h) and was out over the sea travelling towards the North Pole, when it was shot down. Quote “With these larger jets, when they take off from airports, their first job is essentially to get out and get as high as possible as quickly as possible,” says Adam Beckman, a lecturer for aviation studies at Ohio State University. Commercial aircraft typically fly between 31,000 and 38,000 feet — about 5.9 to 7.2 miles — high and usually reach their cruising altitudes in the first 10 minutes of a flight, according to Beckman. Planes can fly much higher than this altitude, but that can present safety issues. https://time.com/5309905/how-high-do-planes-fly/
