Polish man arrested on Samui on overstay "will die" says Thai wife - appeals to UN for justice

Siam Rath reported that a Thai lady and a relative went to the UN HQ in Ratchadamnoen, Bangkok, with a letter appealing for justice for her Polish husband.

 

They had placards that read "UN Please Save our Family" and "Poland is not Safety (safe) for Michal".

 

This came after a Polish man called Michal Wielehinki (probably misspelt) was arrested on overstay in Koh Samui and taken to the IDC (detention center) in Suan Phlu, Thung Mahamek, Bangkok.

 

Sornsiri Khittook is complaining about her husband's passport being returned to the Polish Embassy by Thung Mahamek immigration.

 

She said that her husband was arrested on December 8th 2022 and was taken to court where a fine was paid and a deportation order issued.

He was then locked up in the IDC in the Thai capital.

 

This is a rather unpleasant facility behind the scenes at the immigration center in Suan Phlu.

 

Sornsiri said that a request to Thung Mahamek immigration had been made to send her husband to a third country, not Poland.

 

They refused and then sent his passport to the Polish embassy. It was not out of date.

 

She said that returning the passport to the Polish embassy meant certain death for her husband.

Siam Rath clearly didn't ask her why this was the case.

Oh yes, it is definitely that bad.

 

But that is not the key issue here.

 

Rather it is that they are insisting on deporting him to Poland and, for unspecified  reasons, he/his family believe he would be in danger there.

Poland is a member of EU and not known for killing political or other opponents, there must be something more to his story...

Obviously wanted in the EU for offences runs to Thailand  be it  either Pattaya, Sumui or Phuket or BKK hiding out i would assume the only way he would be killed in Poland is by Organised Crime not the Polish police see it all the time dodgy expats hiding in plain sight in Thailand  its sad ???? as  they shouldn't even be there  in the  first place

If the guy is wanted for firearms a red card notice out by interpol 

I am sure the Polish Embassy will help him get back to Poland and face the consequences of his actions 

Can see why he is using his Thai family to try and stop him being deported back there no sympathy

I'd suggest maybe mixed up in bad business and upset the wrong people. If that was the case and he's liable to be 'offed' then he should not be sent there (no matter what my opinion of his possible guilt).

He's probably wanted in his home country, so Thailand wants to give them a chance to send over police officers to pick him up instead of merely deporting him.
