What could possibly go wrong? Lady orders cheap replacement fingers for husband on Facebook

Last year Thanachote, 30, had a nasty accident with a grass chopper that lopped off his middle three fingers on his left hand.

 

His wife Jariya, 34, hit on the idea to look for a cheap replacement online.

 

They thought they had found the ideal site on Facebook - and it was only 10,000 baht a finger and seemed legit.

 

You could go to a center in Nonthaburi or do it all online, pay half now half later.

 

They opted for the online deal contacting a man called Golfsin via Line chat.

 

All was arranged with a size and color match. Initially the company got the numbers of fingers wrong, making only two.

 

That could have meant the all important pointing finger was not there.

 

This was rectified but ultimately after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing they got the wrong size and the wrong color in a thing that resembled a glove.

 

Not what they ordered at all.

 

They complained about the color and were told the picture was taken in a dark room.

 

A person called "Geng" got involved in the Line chat and it all started to look like they had been conned as excuse after excuse was made.

 

Now the couple went to the press to try and force Golfsin to return their 30 K.

 

Jariya told Thai Rath that her investigations on the Line chat showed that at least 6 people had been ripped off buying fingers online.

 

ASEAN NOW notes that there's a moral there somewhere.

If it was me, I'd just give them the finger.

And that would imply no crucial fingerpointing session at the police station and the con men thus being let off. A shame.
