Trumps anti war speech sounds very similar to the anti war speeches from the 1960 about the Vietnam war , that its the people who profit from war who are pushing for war , like the arms industry 

I suppose he could have prevented the Ukraine war with a quick call to his mate Putin but it's really just conjecture on his part as I can't see how a determined Putin would have listened to anyone, never mind Trump.  

Russia would control most of Europe had Trump remained president.

Trumps idea was for the E.U NOT to expand and befriend Ukraine . had the E.U kept its distance from Ukraine, then Russia wouldn't have waged war against them

Wrong. Russia's fossil fuel based economy has looked like toast for several years. Russia needs Ukraine to diversify its economy and take advantage of its mineral and industrial wealth, not to mention the strategic need for a year round port.

He speaks a language of Mexican depravity, near-certain economic depression, and endless apocolyptic nightmare that seems quite insane in the post-covid, Biden-competent era.

 

There's some inflation etc., but it's not the end of the world. When he keeps screaming about chaos (like he can talk) it's pure projection. And wishful thinking.  Only "he alone can fix"  these very  serious problems that don't really exist

America has never had it so good. These are great days of economic and geopolitical power consolidation. 

 

Independents, the young and women are implacably arrayed against the culturally luddite Republicans. The Fox News doomers are out of step with the broad, upbeat zeitgeist. People are worn out by their various completely made up, hysterical fears. THEY are depressed; the rest of the country, much less so.

Thank you for your concern, but I fortunately live in an area that the storm avoided. Just a bit of wind that blew a few trees down and a spot of rain ( we had worse last year when it wasn't even a cyclone ).

Unfortunately, other areas really got hammered.

Strange summer though- has to have been the rainiest in my lifetime, and not many really hot days. Last year at this time I think we were in a long drought- they didn't even have a fire ban this year.
