In his keynote address at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Saturday evening, former President Donald Trump aired grievances with his familiar foes: President Biden, the Department of Justice, and the litany of legal fights he is embroiled in.

But Trump, now an official presidential candidate who is expected to see a crowded field of other challengers, also took subdued shots at his potential opponents, and argued that any GOP option that's not him represents an establishment "we're never going back to."

"This is the final battle," he said.

I believe the self selected new name is ‘Ultra MAGA’.

Identifiable by wearing two Chinese made red hats.

He becomes very coherent when under oath, and repeats ‘Fifth Amendment’ with perfect annunciation.

Actually, it's called democracy and you don't have to agree with them. I'm sad that someone that usually posts good stuff resorts to such language to describe people you disagree with.

The question is not if I disagree with people or politics. I.e. people can have different opinions about social supports, wars, abortion, and many other issues, I accept that.

The problem with many losers and stupid people is, that they don't care about the truth and reality. I.e. if Trump would say something like: I lost the last election, and now I will work harder to win your trust so that I win next time.

That would make sense. I still wouldn't like him, but I would accept that he fights for his believes.

But Trump still denies reality on so many levels. And his followers should know that he is lying all the time. Why do they support a serial liar?

You called 70 million people losers- that's not nice and they have every right to like someone you don't. I'm sure you are better than that, from your posts on other threads but you seem to have a problem when it comes to Trump.

BTW, they may not like him, but hate Washington so much they support him over the professional politicians. I can understand why that is.

Not that anyone on the left of politics objects to being labelled "woke" or "communist" every time they open their mouth because the right wing have no coherent policy platform.

Define "professional politicians". Oh wait, don't bother, it's all politicians.

Some of you may be shocked, but it turns out Trump's speech to CPAC was full of falsehoods

1)He claimed killings are at an unprecedented level in NYC. This is false. In 2020 and 2021 murders started falling again. In 2021 there were a total of 433 homicides in NY. In 1990 the total was 2245

2)He claimed the US left 85 billion dollars worth of equipment in Afghanistan. The total was actually about 7 billion.

3)He claimed "windmills" created the most expensive form of energy every developed. False. He also claimed that they kill birds which is ture but the numbers are negligible compared to what slaughter domestic cats , the fossil fuel industry and buildings are responsible for. Isn't Trump in real estate?

4) Trump said he shut down border crossings. Not true. And they began to climb back up again in 2020.

5)He claimed that no previous administration had gotten anything from China. Again false. Tariffs from Chinese imports on a yearly basis varied between 8 and 14 billion dollars per year.

6)He claimed that NATO members were delinquent in paying their bills.

7)He claimed that the Obama administration only sent blankets to Ukraine. Actually, the rendered assistance worth about 600 million dollars.

8)He claimed that the wall between Mexico and the USA was "completed".

I think he went in with the intent to make America great again, but the constant attacks on him and the recusal of that <deleted> sessions prevented much from being done.

Much of the little that he did achieve was of benefit to the US, but he wasn't able to do much.

I hope he gives up before the election, but I have slim hope of that.

Hopefully he won't get the financial backing that any POTUS campaign requires.

Trump never in his life been a gracious loser. Fear his crazy mob and not whether he gets financial backing.

So Mr Trump is likely to be the next Republican Presidential Candidate?

Well, if nothing else, the cat fight over the Vice Presidential slot between Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor-Greene should be magnificent!

I hope he isn't the candidate, but if he is I expect everything about it to be very interesting. I said that before he was elected and I was not disappointed in the ensuing 4 years.

Joe is every bit as bad as I expected and what's worse, he's boring.

Yes, boring is bad' isn't it. Sanity is bad. Predictability is bad. Grown-up behavior is bad. Doing sensible things is bad.

Bad Biden!

No, it wasn't anyone else who prevented him from doing what he wanted, it was himself not wanting anything except being at the pillar.
