Can I fly in on a retirement visea that only has 2 weeks on it until it expires? 

I plan to renew once there

If you have an unused visa you can enter on it before it expires and get 90 days.  If you have an extension of stay (with a re-entry permit) you can enter on it and get until the end date on the permit.  Renewal will depend on what you actually have and if you meet the requirements, i.e. 800k in the bank for a new extension.

    It is not the Visa that expires, but the permission of stay/re-entry permit. 

     

    Yes you can enter with it if valid and go for a new extension... beware the IO does not give you a Visa Exempt.
