Popular Post snoop1130 Posted March 29, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 29, 2023 Foreign tour guides in Thailand The caretaker Thai PM, Prayut Chan-o-cha, has ordered strict legal action against foreigners who are working as tour guides, which is a profession exclusively reserved for Thai nationals. This announcement came after several complaints were filed, citing violation of the executive decree of 2017. According to government deputy spokeswoman Traisuree Taisarakul, the law clearly states that foreigners cannot work without a permit or fill jobs reserved for Thai citizens, including tour guide positions. The penalty for violators is a fine ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 baht, immediate deportation, and a two-year ban on applying for a work permit. Popular Post ikke1959 Posted March 29, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 29, 2023 If there is a private tour with a private guide there should be no problem.. Who of the Thais can speak Russian, Swedish, Dutch, German, French, Spanish or just name it... You should be happy if there is a Thai guide who can guide in English and answer all questions... I am wondering when Thailand starts to welcome tourists, instead of with outdated laws hold hem off. Enter the 21st century please 2 2 2 7 5

Perhaps logically Thailand (and TAT) thinks that a Thai tourist guide with a better local knowledge of Thailand, it's history, religion and culture can better present Thailand to visitors. And logically western chefs and estate agents can better cater to western tastes than their Thai counter-parts. 3

If they have a proper work visa because an organisation needs certain language speakers fair enough otherwise get rid of the illegal grifters and leeches. How psychologically convenient and what dysfunctional compartmentalisation is it to go to a country, not obey the rules regarding visas etc and simple go about ignoring these rules and reg's because you want to to stay in that nation. If they are refugees sure help them and give them shelter if they are in really bad straights, support and compassionate consideration otherwise ... ... Good guys in bad guys out! There's rant for the day lol ????????
