now that is an accomplishment - - but how long can that go on for?

ps - all I ever saw on Ekkamai were cars stuck in traffic jams

20 years ago, all I saw was sexpats getting the bus to Pattaya.

  • Sounds like you need to move with that attitude. Try Kho San road or Nana.

He should try the USA or wherever it is he originates from. There are too many moaners here

I would love to know what time you're out and about when you're only coming across a handful of people on the streets. That's quite fortunate as every time I've been there the streets, mall, and shops along the sois were packed with Thais along with a sprinkling of Japanese, Koreans, and westerners.

Ah the view of humanity.   Try upcountry.   Beggars with cardboard signs in lots of upscale neighborhood intersections in these times.  I rarely see someone donate but I cringe when they provide future incentive.

How do these people scrape money for a ticket to Thailand one wonders.

If you're so interested in (or obsessed with) them, here's a novel idea: ask them!

You seem confused though. Ekkamai, Hooker Central? I'm not really a fan of Ekkamai myself, but very little in your post makes any sense. In which neighborhood did you live before, pray tell?

Can't edit.  I meant many beggars everywhere! Even here in USA.  Denver and salt lake, LA, Portland I've seen first hand.

WOW, that was quite an OP RANT.... Seems like a bit of attitude adjustment is in order...

Meanwhile, wouldn't mind hearing more about the OP's observations of lonely Japanese women waiting for their Japanese husbands to come home from work!  Perhaps there's some adventure to be had there! ????
