This is quite a serious thread and I do think that the mods should have a word with the person who gave a it a laugh emoji

  • Absolutely you should assume that it was a rabid rat and get yourself to hospital asap!

Does this pseudoscientific nonsense make you feel safe and/or immortal?

That isn't actually "pseudoscientific nonsense" , that is how long rabies takes to spread , I read it on a scientific paper and wrote it in my own words

You have three days to get your first anti rabies vaccine shot after being infected  .

I have had the first shot done and three more to go in the future

You're taking some very immature risks with your health. Your incoherent and rambling comments here might be one of the symptoms.

Get yourself checked at a hospital, stay sane and safe!

Can the two emoji laughers call me out on this , so I can post a link to the article ?

Are you going to sit there quietly laughing anonymously, or are you going to be a Man and speak up for yourselves and ask me for a link to my claims ?

One must assume that you didn't read the post above where I stated that I have just had my first shot and am waiting the three  further shots

Haha, no I was talking about you specifically..you pull everyone up post-after-post I guess as you are sold old you cannot 'read' the fast 'free-flow' of ribbing on forums...

Your language style shows how old you are.

It's cool bro. just roll forward..don't take all those laugh emoticons so deeply.

Everybody is entitled to opinions !

Mc has been here commenting  much more than you  , judging from the total amount of comments!

There are rules that everyone on here must follow ! The laugh emoji has been discussed on many threads !
That being said, unfortunately it is a tool for a small minority of members and its soul purpose is to  be used in a derogatory way for trolling.

Yes, they are just trolling and attention seeking and looking to get reaction .

I think that it would be better to ignore them in the future , as we are giving them the attention they seek

I remember the good old days, 20 years ago,  with George and Dr. Pat Pong where we could write anything we wanted. Personally, I think that is better than all the sensitiveness these days. I don't give a flying fork if someone leaves a smiling emoji, <deleted>,

Just my regular government hospital. There was no special discount.

The vaccine that you say you have been looking for is Human Rabies Immuno-Globulin (HRIG) Rabies.

Rabies Vaccine (RV) is different and it can 7 days before it produces anti-bodies to stop rabies.

Rabies can possibly incubate before this, though this is rare and depends on the position and severity of the wound.

To provide protection RIG already has anti-bodies and can give almost immediate protection before the vaccine kicks in.

It is pointless having RIG after 7 days from the bite.

HRIG can be difficult to get as it is very expensive, though it would be available in Bangkok.

Equine Rabies Immuno-Globulin (ERIG) is relatively cheaper and would have been the one that you are allergic to.

Rabies pre-immunization obviates the need for RIG  but still requires 2 vaccine booster shots which are quiet cheap.

A full RV course after a bite also obviates further need of RIG but needs 2 boosters in further bites.

Interesting to read how you can get that info from peoples posts .

Are you genuine or are you just making it all up ?

Can you name the other posters who appear to be in that age bracket according to their posts ?

Lets see how accurate you are ?

Any local clinic. Not free about 450 Baht for all three. I have not but expect to make it until 85.

Yes , I went to four hospitals looking for the HRIG and eventually found after being told its quite hard to find it and they injected it straight into the wound , cost about 2-3000 Baht

That's a surprising reasonable price, I would have thought more than that.

Mac - I think you have pervasive sarcasm in the typed form blindness.

The often quoted price for the full treatment is about 5000 Baht

I paid 2-3000 Baht for that vaccine and another 2-3000 Baht for the other vaccine and tetanus shots and I got another 2-3000 Baht to spend on the 7 further booster shots , so, about right

The hard to find expensive shot (HRIG) is a one off jab into the wound .

The other regular  jabs are into the arm ( I am basing that on the fact that the hospital who jabbed my arm and sent me elsewhere for the HRIG , told me that I could get the regular boosters at their hospital, as they had a supply

You have a negative approval rating though .

27 000 posts and just a 15 000 approval rating .

Look at mine , well in plus .

To get a plus approval rating , just complain about people laughing at your posts and the fools respond by posting laughing emojis and your approval rating goes up  ????

There are more important things in my life than getting approved by old expats lol.

Hope you are feeling better after the bite.

approval rating might be more accurate if there were only thumbs up and thumbs down emojis.

And for anyone who doesn't like injections .

I honestly didn't even know they had done them .

I just closed my eyes and looked the other way and just let them get on with it  , a few minutes later I'd had a blood test , rabies vaccine and a tetanus shot and I had to take their word that they did them, because I didn't feel anything at all
