At the end 9f last century, woman started to fight for their right of independency.

I remember seeing on the television clips of woman who had started a successful business and "man" had turned into house slaves (cleaning, wash dishes, babysitting, etc..)

But when i look at thaivisa.com, all the woman in there ask for a man who want to support them.

Did woman indepency went wrong in Thailand?

Female independence is created by welfare.

No welfare in Thailand so no female independence.

"woman who had started a successful business"

Loads of them in Thailand.

Loads running food and retail businesses.

Loads running farms on their own.

Some looking for a Western husband with money to spare.

I guess you've been looking (I don't know where) at advertisments from the latter, while completely failing to notice the prevalence of the former categories.

Junk OP.

As a woman, I can tell you, you get what you strive for. Of course, in places like Thailand , not every child/ girl gets the education they need to get on in life. Especially in poorer areas in the north.  My parents helped me, good education, setting an example. I wanted to be successful, takes a lot of hard studying and work. My siblings and school. friends have had good lives, married or not, most could be completely independent if they wish. Even tho I had a longtime companion, I was always independent, had my own money/ savings. He also pushed me into good investments, I’ve never regretted, and am thankful for my upbringing.

The seemingly high number of Thai women involved in the sex industry in Thailand seems to dismiss any reluctantance of their independence from men other than as paying "partners."

And as already noted, many more Thai women than than men, especially in the low income and educational brackets, appear to try to self-start their own, albeit barely capitalized small businesses, to survive without "sugar daddies."

Confuscious?

Well perhaps you're confused, as you're certainly no Confucius

Know many independent women in management positions; rate my partner as same as she's not dependent upon me or my income - accountant/office manager and I'd say many of her colleagues and friends are similarly 'independent' in terms of careers/earnings.

Perhaps widen your circle of acquaintances. get out more.

Thais are well known for living an easy comfortable life, especially the men that let the women work – so no wonder that Thai ladies are looking for a provider, so she can also have an easy comfortable life; her odds for finding that kind of provider is higher among foreigners...

In the women's forum? Seriously?

Observation bias and false judgment ("wrong"). Lot of independent women in Thailand, and a women can choose to be independent if she chooses. My gf has a management position in a company and her own money. Never asked for a baht from me.

One could argue, BTW, that Thai women are simply less brainwashed and able to retain common sense in their own, and men's, best interests. As The Redheaded Libertarian explained today,

What is smarter to do for a woman: work to make money or select the right guy who will work to make money?

It's economics. If I get tired of being Hugh Hefner in Thailand, I can move to Somalia and be Elon Musk.

Best post I've read all year!

Or you could be Bob Guccione in Colombia????

Any more "could be in....."?

Maybe the thread "could be" fun?

Bob Guiccione was a god to me. At least in the realm of over-done neck jewelry. Few people were as awash in such brilliant bad taste, and that's even with backing out Caligula.

I'd rather be Bob Guccione than the the other two. By a mile.

My Thai wife has spent 35 years in England, she has her own income,

I am dependent on her cooking! ????????????

Lots of males and other sexes online and  looking for sponsors too.

Demand for the female kind is just larger..

From the clip:
"If you can not or nor want to support your Thai girlfriend, go back to your country and find a girlfriend there because ASIAN CULTURE is about supporting your girlfriend."

Does she mean purely financial?  I think there are simply not enough cases of the woman being supported by the male in Asian culture to make this true.

There are just too many working women and not enough house wives for it to be true.

Personally, I wouldn't trust a Thai woman saying "Hey foreign man.  The man supports the woman in our culture".  There's simply too much in it for them and "it is the culture" is often used to manipulate foreigners.
