Wife ( who has a history of exaggeration ), informs me that all pubs will be closed and alcohol sales prohibited tomorrow Sunday, because of a province wide election.

What is the truth?

If there is an election tomorrow (which I don't know about?) then yes, all closed from 6 PM today (Saturday) to 6 PM tomorrow (Sunday).

Nationwide elections are on Sunday, May 14th. Saturday 13th at 6 PM shutters down.

Maybe a local can comment on elections in Chiang Mai tomorrow? Wouldn't be a smart schedule.

advance election date is on 7th May, same prohibition as actual date of 14th

But nothing tomorrow April 23.

It appears to be a Tambol election, so she who must be obeyed has inflated it to a province wide prohibition.

She has done this before when she wants me to stay at hame. It usually means that she has spent all her housekeeping for the month and will want to "borrow" my beer money.
