Emster23 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 How could this happen? Don't all jet ski renters give extensive instruction in safe operation of the craft? And must wear life preservers requirement? Seems like this "accident" took place around sunset: a terrible time to drive a car with impaired visibility... imagine the glare off the water into your eyes. Probably didn't see it coming. 1

How long did it take you to learn how to ride a bike...? ???? 3
Popular Post JeffersLos Posted April 25, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 25, 2023 I'm sure the jetski insurance will pay out in full. Presuming, of course, that both pilots had the required international shipping license to pilot them. 1 2

steven100 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 very sad and tragic for the poor 7yr old boy who later succumbed to his horrific injuries, a broken neck and broken jaw. RIP poor kid, always remembered. As for the Indian's ... well they did a runner just like any Thai bus driver would following an accident. 1
Popular Post KhunBENQ Posted April 25, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 25, 2023 Seven year old child on the jetski. Adult no live vest and likely a non swimmer. What more idiocy does it need? And the unscrupulous jet ski Mafiosi rent to everyone. Completely analog to renting (big) bikes with no questions asked. And that will not change as they won't be held responsible. 1 2
Goat Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Here we go again. Different versions of the same story. The Aseannow story claims there were two Indians involved. And the Tiger News version who says the jetski flipped backed up by an eye witness, with no mention of any Indians. I know which one i find to be more credible.
KhunBENQ Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 On the other hand there is no visible damage to the jetski? And no other jetski depicted and mentioned the whereabouts. And another story indeed says driver did a sharp curve and thrown off/flipped.

And also bad cars, trucks, bicycles, and walking. That would reduce accidents. On a serious note... Is it normal for children to be allowed on them? I would not let my 7 year old child go on one of those things.. 1

Bloody right, I got stuck behind some strange little vehicle towing a line of 3 of them on a main road in Jomtien. What with the samlors, food carts and now these damned election loudspeaker vehicles, traffic is grinding to near stationary. 2

If you had to drag those damn things out of the water 6 or 7 days a week for years on end you probably wouldn't be doing a safety checklist either

What "man" are you referring to? The deceased? Part of the "crew"? Where do you find that? "Kid hanging around"? Sorry can't get it. 1
anchadian Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 It turns out the story of an Indian tourist colliding into a jet ski and running away was incorrect and fabricated and the owner of the jet ski, which was unlicensed, that was involved in a fatal accident that took two lives is being charged. #Pattaya https://thepattayanews.com/2023/04/26/update-only-one-jet-ski-involved-in-fatality-of-8-year-old-kid-and-jet-ski-rider-in-pattaya/ 2

If you've ever spent any time around the docks there, you'll notice that the jet ski "mafia" loads up their jet skiis onto trailers at the end of the business day, at this time. The deceased were both Thai. They were probably part of the crew that removes the jet skiis from the water.
