Is slippery bathroom tile mandated by law?

Featured Replies

One of the constants here in Thailand is that your bathroom floor tile is slippery more than any other tile in the home or condo, why?

Is there one idiot that we can point to who shoulder's the blame for choosing slippery tile for bathrooms?

How many people has this idiot killed over the years?

Mine is not and never has been. Two houses over 30 years and have never encountered what you are talking about. In fact have not even noticed that in hotels I have stayed in. Now patterned  tiles on house car parks are a different story, have run across those occasionally on a rainy day.

I've showered in numerous properties in Thailand and never noticed this problem - maybe it's your feet that are slippery?

Call me a troll!

Will you compensate me?

I see the problem clearly.  A whole bunch of "me too" trolls want everyone to disbelieve what they know to be true because you a foreigner chose your tile.

My condo was built prior to taking control.

I'm not writing about foreign builds.

Why, would the use of the word trigger you?

Makes you look foolish...????

I built my house in LOS 16 years back, the 3 bathrooms have non-slip tiles on the floors and shower floor.

Do yourself a favour, go to a big DIY store like Dohome, they have a vast selection of non-slip bathroom tiles for YOU to choose from........????

You didn't give me any impression, you were stating all bathroom floors in LOS are slippery, read your thread heading, I have shown you they are not, non-slip tiles have always been available since I have been here.

Give me a break newbie, I have lived here right at 35 years. Also look in the mirror when it comes to trolling.

there are substance that's often found in bathroom that lowers the coefficient of friction on the surfaces they come in contact on, these substance are rarely encountered on other floor surfaces in the home

Yes, I know, though I think he has come unstuck in both.....????

Too many folks on here with simple problems , when I come to a problem

I just solve it , one way or another,  slippy bathroom tiles , go to a shop

selling tiles and buy non slip tiles , there are plenty about , find a tiler or

do it yourself ,  as I did ,as house built 35 years ago , and wanted more

modern style tiles , I am NOT a troll.....

I have two condos and a house. All have non-slip tiles in the hong nams. It's the one just outside the door that gets you!

You must have a mat there, especially if you don't dry your feet properly....????

and why is it so hard to dry tiles here ? im vexed.

You put non-slip in a bathroom, ordinary tiles are a pain to dry, they need time to dry.

Have you never mopped a floor......................?    :ermm:

3M makes some good no slip tape so if your tiles are too slippery just get a roll and put down some strips, it is clear and works

Nope.

Not my experience, very seldom found hotels with slippery tiles in the bathroom, and in our house all our bathrooms have patterned tiles that are not slippery.
