Concrete expansion joint foam - where to buy?

Featured Replies

I'm about to start a project of concreting my driveway along with the yard.

I want to install expansion foam in several joints.

Searched for the product but couldn't locate anything similar to joint expansion foam on Lazada.

Doesn't anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you.

I don't think many people bother.

In Switzerland we had to contend with temperatures between -20°C and +40°C. That's a lot of expansion due to temperature. Much less here. Also although I have seen a lot of shoddy concreting jobs, none of the damage seemed to be caused by thermal expansion. I suppose you could buy asphalt in sacks and pack it in the day after concreting when you have removed the pieces of wood you thoughtfully put in every 5 - 8 metres.

I have yet to see a single example of a foam expansion joint used in concrete work.

At least not in residential properties.

On lazada I've found large sheets of foam made from the same as pictured material (expanded polyethylene).

I just looked but I am not familiar with that kind of product so I don't know if it shows the correct item or just something.

Thanks, it doesn't look that they make or use this specific product in Thailand.

I'll be good with what I've already found.

Will just have to cut a bigger sheet  of material in stripes.

The Kingdom of Thailand Ministry of Transport Department of Highways has a set of standard drawings for the saw-cut expansion joints you see them working on for all new major RC roadworks.

Here are a couple of excerpts from those drawings which may help:

Thanks.

Sika Thailand also has a product worth considering...

I did something very similar.

The weeds grow wonderfully well in the bitumen filled cuts.
