So, if a women has a baby and is one day from delivery, she should be able to request an abortion just because. That's what is being signaled by those unable to give a yes or no answer.

What don't you understand about "late stage abortions are rare and only conducted after careful and detailed medical assessment "?

No woman has an abortion one day before delivery just because they want to. That's a false assumption and difficult to explain without adding context.

Any level headed individual can tell there was a yes or no answer to this. Kennedy specified for this hypotetical question there were no complications. All this stupidy from the left gives fuel to the right and they in turn come up with crazy ideas.

Somewhere there's a point where both sides can agree on the rules for abortion. Questions must be answered with a yes or no answer.

As long as the government is looking over the shoulders of doctors and threatening them with the possibility  severe penalties including imprisonment, the situation will never be resolved.

Nonsense.

What part of “late stage abortions are rare and only conducted  after careful and detailed medical assessment.” don’t you understand.

She’d have a delivery and you know it.

But Kennedy knows his audience, always looking for a reason to be offended, no matter how absurd tge fabricated reason.

And from the party of small government and the sovereignty of citizens over government.

Some fundamentalist White Christian legislators in Florida and elsewhere are already talking up banning contraception/birth control.

DeSantis is already cutting State funding for contraception.

For the second time in two years, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Florida) has vetoed millions of dollars in funding that would have gone toward making birth control accessible to low-income Floridians.

DeSantis vetoed a total of $3 billion out of the $110 billion budget that the state legislature sent him last month. Of the $3 billion he slashed, $2 million would have provided individuals with low incomes the opportunity to obtain long-acting, reversible forms of contraception, including intrauterine devices (IUDs), which are effective for up to 10 years, and Depo-Provera injections, which last for around three months, among others.

Soon the Florida Man will be involved in every aspect of Floridians' lives. I'm certain he'll weigh in on acceptable practices in the privacy of one's home.

I'm guessing your answer would be no.

I would not answer without providing a lot of further information as evidenced in my links.

  • 2 years later...

Just wanted to come back and add something - after everything I went through with Depo-Provera, I ended up speaking with Oberheiden, a law firm that handles pharmaceutical litigation. They helped clarify my rights and what options I actually had. Honestly, I wish I had talked to them sooner.
