Garcia, 33, who was killed on the scene by an Allen police officer who was on a call nearby when the shooting started, was wearing an insignia that authorities believe may be associated with extremist groups, the source said.

Investigators have also unearthed an extensive social media presence, including neo-Nazi and White supremacist-related posts and images that authorities believe Garcia shared online, according to the source.

Garcia opened fire Saturday afternoon at the Allen Premium Outlets, where employees, shoppers and families with small children scrambled to take cover as he moved through the mall complex, authorities said.

There was a time when we had to rely on Godwin’s Law for discussions to arrive at a probability of Nazi’s being mentioned rising to 100%.

These days news of atrocities and other crimes committed by rightwing extremists in the  US start off with a baseline of them being Nazi sympathizers.

Lots more details emerging about this extreme right wing loon.

He was in the US Army for just 3 months before thrown him out.

"An account run by the suspect on a Russia-based social network seen by BBC News includes pictures of Nazi swastikas and SS tattoos, other posts glorifying Nazis, and rambling messages about violence."

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-65527487

He was a big fan of a twitter account @libsoftiktok and signed off on one of his posts with "Heil Hitler"

Boxes of ammo he bought before the shooting spree:

So this Latino guy is a non-white white supremacist? I'm wondering if there is a more logical (and less politically favourable for the usual team) explanation for this horrific crime? Don't need to search far....

"Many of his posts referenced his mental health. In his final post, he lamented what his family might say and wrote that no psychologist would have been able to fix him."

I wonder why certain media would ignore the crucial mental health angle and instead being divisive and trying to score cheap points? hmmm

See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enrique_Tarrio

Henry "Enrique" Tarrio ... born 1984 or 1985 is an American far-right activist. From 2018 to 2021, he was the chairman of the Proud Boys, a neo-fascist, exclusively male organization that promotes and engages in political violence in the United States. Along with three other Proud Boys leaders, Tarrio was convicted on May 4, 2023, of seditious conspiracy, for his role in the 2021 United States Capitol attack.

Be educated on the matter:

The rise of white nationalist Hispanics

The U.S. trend, fueled over the course of Donald Trump's presidency and the pandemic, extends beyond movement leaders to a broader network of participants, some of whom have faced hate crimes charges.

Did you click on the BBC link where it mentions his mental health from his discharge in the US army? Apparently not.

As for his social media posts, they are all in the BellingCat twitter link I posted if you scroll the threads there.

You see a picture of Mauricio Garcia? Not exactly a "white" hispanic...  the gang tatoos might give you a hint about it.

He was so white nationalist that he went to a tony shopping mall in a city that is less than 10% black to do his crime. It may be that he was racist and bigoted, but trying to tie this to so-called white nationalism is ludicrous, at least without some concrete evidence.

Yes thanks, seen plenty of pictures of the right wing, white nationalist loon in the links I've already posted. You've obviously not thought of clicking them.

I can sense your shock but straight from the horses mouth so to speak. Link provided earlier....................................

I was watching cnn today they were  talking about how some of the parents of kids shot by these mass murdering criminals want their post mortem pictures published to goad these republican cowards into doing their jobs it’s horrible to lose the kids and I cannot imagine the anger and anguish that would drive a parent to even consider it …………

Following the lead of Emmett Till's mother?

Emmett Till’s mother declined an offer from the mortician to “touch up” her son’s body, and she made the decision to have an open casket funeral. “I think everybody needed to know what had happened to Emmett Till,” she said. Mamie's decision would make her son's death a touchstone for a generation. At a church on the South Side of Chicago, Emmett Till's mutilated body would be on display for all to see. Fifty thousand people in Chicago saw Emmett Till's corpse with their own eyes. When the magazine Jet ran photos of the body, black Americans across the country shuddered.

Exactly to shame the republican law makers into doing their jobs

Americans have been arguing over the 2nd amendment for years,  Simple fix to mass shootings is to treat bullets like antibiotics.  You want protection using a gun, OK, you get 6-8 bullets per family, not per gun or not per person,  End of argument on gun control.

Same with families who shoot deer or elk for food.

Yeah, in la-la land.

BTW, I actually like hearing these sorts of ideas, and would certainly throw this into the discussion mix.

But, good luck arguing that position with the current Supreme Court.

Limiting access to ammunition would constitute an "infringement".

One tiny problem with your post is that there's plenty of evidence that he did subscribe to white naitonalist and neo-nazi ideology:
