Not much of a "town hall".  As is so often the case, the moderator couldn't help but hogging the spotlight and trying to debate Trump.  I don't think there were any questions at all from the attendees

Note he didn't need a cheat sheet and pre-prepared questions(a practise which i am assured is fine and normal in modern democracies). I like it Trumps way, it shows a persons mental abilities and seem

It's easy to see Trump would shred biden up in a one on one debate. Trump is still sharp.

If you're looking for possible conspiracy theories in this, CNN deliberately decided to pump up Trump in order to reduce the chances for his rivals. CNN understand that Trump can't win an election from here.

CNN may well have delivered Trump his biggest boost yet in his quest for the 2024 GOP nomination — an ironic twist for a news network to which the former president almost always used to append the term “Fake News.”

All of the traits that Trump’s hardcore supporters admire were on full display on Wednesday — the belligerence, the swatting-aside of criticism and the mocking of opponents and adversaries.

He never came close to being trapped in any politically awkward spot — save perhaps when declining to answer whether he wanted Russia or Ukraine to win the war sparked by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s February 2022 invasion.

Good lord, do we actually..........agree........... on something? Time to buy a lottery ticket!

I didn't say I agreed. It's a conspiracy theory and I believe they have a 100% failure rate. I think CNN were simply too stupid to see this coming. It is a fact that they did stack the audience, the question was why?

You really think "raw story" is a credible source?  I would like to hear how the writer came to this conclusion.  New Hampshire is not exactly GOP country- Biden won it in 2020.

Are you saying that Trump didn't even manage to get 400 votes in New Hampshire?

It doesn't take much cognitive skills to repeat the same lies over and over again.

I'll take morality over a quick tongue any day. Shocking that others would feel different. But then again, America is the land of snake oil. Plenty of folks still buyin' it.

I am starting to think it may all be part of a cunning plot on the part of CNN. Much like how the Democratic Party deliberately supported radical GOP candidates in the run up to the 2022 mid term elections. They want Trump as the GOP nominee because they think he is beatable.  More than any of the other candidates.  So they give him a forum and a relatively receptive audience to work his magic with.

And it just might work.

Now, if Trump was the frontrunner by far in the polling, then your suspicion would clearly be unfounded.

I believe this is game, set and match for the Dems. trump has fed the MAGA base with his stinky meat and the other GOP hopefuls cower away in fear of the (what was the word Hillary used?).

trump will again be the GOP candidate and yet again he will lose. Well played!

Wow! If that was a "good night" for Trump I'd hate to see a "bad night".

The NH Gov. should call out the National Guard, declare a state of emergency and request the EPA and FEMA (before SCOTUS strips them of their authority) come in and clean up this toxic spill.

It's a good thing Kaitlin Collins isn't Trump's "type".

Why would he need a cheat sheet?

Yeah, it's not like he's talking about policy. I mean unless the policy involves his grievences.

You're assuming that the potted plant, Biden, gets the Dems nomination.

Correct, I'm assuming that President Biden will get the Dems' nomination based on him having crushed trump in an election already.

President Biden's popularity ratings are down and a guy like DeSantis could have had a chance against him.

But trump? No siree Bob! :intheclub:

ratings in the toilet.....seems like a smart move by CNN from a business standpoint. Trump is fantastic for ratings.

Oh, he will. They are already circling the wagons. No debates for the Democratic primaries etc. Plus if he drops, then the Democrats are basically forced to push Harris to the top spot. And that would be a disaster of epic proportions.

As for Trump, I hope the GOP will come to their senses and nominate someone else.

No doubt about that. He has his carnival barker/snake oil salesman/aggrieved pre-teen down to a T.

Agreed.  It would have been easy for him to add something new but that is not part of his brand.

He has no chance to win the Presidency ever again and that is all that is important

It was a win for Trump and I wonder if other Independents were going to be swayed. I do not think any RINO's were in attendance.

CNN town hall audience laughs at sexual assault as Trump reminds us how awful he is

"Donald Trump took full advantage of CNN’s willingness to give him a platform Wednesday night, spouting lies faster than a sprinkler on a cocaine bender and giving Americans a reminder — as if they needed one — of how deplorable he and his supporters can be.

Sexual abuse, like the kind a jury just found Trump liable of? That’s a laugh line for these folks."

Trump said he would be able to instantly end the Ukraine war - just one of his outlandish claims, as Robert Moore reports

If Donald Trump's performance last night provides an early guide to the 2024 presidential campaign, my advice is to hide in a dark room for the next 18 months. Or head for the hills and disconnect from social media.

Just a day after he was found liable for sexual assault by a New York jury, the former president was last night hosted by CNN in New Hampshire and given a national stage.

Trump used it to unleash a 70-minute untamed torrent of misinformation. Wild conspiracy theories, multiple falsehoods, angry accusations, and outlandish claims poured forth.

"ignites fresh controversy"?

Heck, he set the whole auditorium on fire.

It would be easier to list his statements which were accurate and truthful, both of them, rather than the fire-hose of lies.

Fact checkers be workin' all night.

Look I'm glad he showed us what he is, but man if I were a family member I might try to get gramps back to Senior Care facility at Mar-a-lago ASAP.

Maybe his corset/girdle was too tight? He can't wear it when he plays golf, so that's why he looks so whale-like in the links photos.

You prefer a person in power just to speak whatever comes to mind without regard for consequences?our enemies would be delighted to have this man back in power.Personally I prefer a person who is mindful of what they say especially if that person is in a position of incredible power.with a team of experts backing them up a person who knows how to work within the system to get things done.btw in that regard mr Biden is kicking butt imagine if both political parties worked together instead of being terrified of trump who to me appears to have  mental health issues

We must have watched a different CNN town Hall meeting.     The one I saw had Dump doing his usual tactic of  continually talking over the moderator.

On the other hand, he did very kindly point out to her that she is a "nasty person".

My understanding of this event was that the deal Trump made including allowing the CNN host to fact check and question him.

Otherwise as he didn’t face any Republican challengers and had a super friendly audience it would have just been another fascist trump propaganda rally.

An interesting consequence....????

Former President Donald Trump’s comments Wednesday night about his handling of classified documents appeared to contradict statements by his lawyers, and provide potentially important evidence for federal prosecutors investigating whether to charge him with a crime, legal experts say.

The question yet to be answered is:

Did Trump do for CNN or did CNN do for Trump?

Nevermind CNN, it seems both the MAGA-types and the Dems believed they won.  The MAGA folks got some free prime time exposure while the Dems got about a month's worth of ammo for attack ads in the general election.

Loser?  The moderate Republicans who will be stuck with Trump as their nominee for 2024.

  • Popular Post

A constant stream of evidence admissible against him in civil and criminal courts.

Thank you Donny, you’re a genius.
