Google has announced a major update that will see thousands – potentially even millions – of accounts permanently deleted if they have not been used since 2021.

The purge will include Gmail, Drive and Photos accounts that have not been used or signed into for at least two years.

Their new policy doesn't sound unreasonable to me.  If the owner hasn't logged in for two years the storage isn't being used by a user that is generating any income for Google.  It's all about advertising.

Agreed, plus they will be sending emails to the relevant accounts to inform them what is going on!
