Wuss of a country, Germany. Their, cough, cough, ally blows up their pipeline and they pretend to see no evil and hear no evil.

Recession? Of course, if you replace billions of cubic meters of cheap gas with billions of barrels of LNG from the same country, except it's rerouted and rebranded in India, you gotta  pay. Follow the numpty Baerbock off a cliff.

The expensive LNG only accelerated the trend. Germany is rapidly deindustrializing, due to massive competition from East Asia - Japan, South Korea, and the worst is now coming from China. There is a panic now in EU how to prevent the Chinese to take over the EU car markets with their superior EV car offerings. Higher tariffs are increasingly rumoured. Germany is a resource poor country and relies on high value exports, which experience ever increasing competition. Importing expensive resources like LNG only decreases further their competitiveness.

But... did the German politicians laugh when Obama/Biden said it as they did with Trump?   I suspect they are not laughing now.  Perhaps if they had taken his wise words more seriously then they might not be in quite such a pickle.

The Germans are getting angry again...AFD is apparently now polling better than any of the three ruling parties.

Better than the Greens and the FDP, but still behind SPD. But whatever, they will never be part of a government in the coming years.

More likely it comes to Green/CDU coaltions, that will be not better for the country at all, or, a bit more likely, to SPD/CDU, what we had long enough under Merkel.

But for now, the green hardcore ideologists have overstretched and are in decline.

Why do you feel you need to compare UK only with the current worst case?

Germany is the EU's largest economy (by a long way), so the fact it is also the "worst case" is significant. The fish rots from the head. Germany is the "head" of the EU in terms of economy (amongst other things).

UK is only second worst after Germany in G7.

Yes, the UK is currently doing better than Germany, despite the UK leaving the EU and Germany remaining. Thanks for pointing that out.

UK is also rated AA- while Germany is rated AAA.

Ratings... lol.

Actually, It's a noticeable achievement that Germany succeeded in switching from 60% dependence on Russian Gaz to 0%. Few countries would have been able to manage this transition as well as Germany, while keeping public debt at a low level.

You are laughing about ratings? Really? You forgot that these ratings determine the interest rate when a government borrows money. So Germany has not only a dept/GDP ratio which is around half of UK's debt/GDP ratio, but Germany also pays significantly lower interest rates than UK.

And this is relevant how? Trump certainly wasn't there first. So why did you even bother making that post? As far as I can tell, your post is just about you harboring vicarious resentment against the Germans for how they reacted to Trump.. Once again, I still don't understand why you posted Trump's opposition to the pipeline when the oppostion  to it was a position of the American govt that pre-dated his Presidency.
