Don't be so naïve. People have died falling over in the shower.

Indeed, I personally know 2 people who did this.

The 22 year old man was in a state of distress, alleging that a taxi driver had stolen his mobile phone.

I've heard of spitting the dummy out but this beats it all.

3rd floor jumps do not provide good odds for ending it.....

But 3rd floor jumps have very good odds for ending up in the hospital with a huge medical bill...

I hope he is presented with a VERY FAT invoice to pay for all ...

And deported out of Thailand.

Irresponsible time waster. Agreed, he should be billed for the call out and prosecuted for wasting police time.

The  coward was on the 8th floor but moved to the 3rd. The 8th floor was too scary for his child like brain. If she's smart she will dump his a$$.

I did not say it is impossible to die from a 3rd floor jump....

I said the odds were very far from a sure thing.....

I would guess a very high number of 3rd floor jumpers have survived,....But many would be a medical mess......

Early last year, the handrail on a small bridge I was crossing gave way. I only fell 1.5 to 2 meters onto the river bank. I landed heavily on my right shoulder, but I was within a hair's breadth of landing on my head, which would very likely resulted in a broken neck. My neck still grinds somewhat when I turn it.

That was a very lucky landing on to fairly soft ground. I would never regard a fall from the 3rd story as having low odds of dying. The height doesn't mean a lot. It's what you land on and what angle you impact the surface that counts.

Telephone junkie, not enough screen time. Telephone lost.. All his comrades had their heads buried in their phones at lunch and he had to deal with not having his phone.

The way he manuevoured as the article stated and moved to another balcony indicates that by no means this pathetic soul was drunk. BTW, did he get his phone back? Lol

Yes and it was actually made quite easy for him. Take a look at the 2nd photo in the full article. There's a ledge running round the outside of the balcony and he's standing on it!

This guy was in no real danger at all. What a load of fuss about nothing!

(previous post a tick faster)

If he had jumped didn't die end up in hospital being Chinese would they charged  him double,  held him hostage until his bill is paid in full like other farangs we have read about?

Guess we won't know in this case.

Would have happily stood on the balcony with Goggle translate on in Chinese on full volume saying  "go on then jump you idiot"

I have seen that happen a few times , people telling a suicidal person to jump , its sad to see it happen .

They often jump as well .

Idiot China guy!

Looks like a nice hotel, especially the corner units.  Hopefully this China guy won't sour it's reputation.

They usually don't mention the hotel or businesses in news articles.
