Former President Donald Trump insisted he did nothing wrong amid reports that he knowingly held onto classified documents after his presidency, in a Fox News town hall appearance Thursday that also saw him lob slights at his primary opponents including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“I don’t know anything about it. All I know is this: Everything I did was right,” Trump responded to a question about a recording that reportedly includes Trump acknowledging he kept a classified document. He quickly pivoted to President Joe Biden, who’s also had classified documents found in his possession.

Donald Trump and Fox News play it safe in town hall as network faces lawsuit

Donald Trump and Fox News played it safe on Thursday with a town-hall event in Iowa that swerved past the former US president’s election lies and liability for sexual abuse.

The uncharacteristic omissions were a striking contrast to Trump’s recent town hall on rival network CNN and likely a source of relief for both his own lawyers and those of Fox News.

In April, the beleaguered network agreed to pay Dominion Voting Systems $787m to avert a trial in the company’s lawsuit over its promotion of Trump’s debunked claims about the 2020 election.

Almost correct, just one word missing.  Everything he did was far right.

I like to know if he sold any of the docs we all know how greedy he is now they can’t find the Iran attack doc quell surprise

Yeah, guess the motive is a popular game on talk media in the US right now.

Seems that the doc about attacking Iran is one gone missing.

I don't think so. I think his theft of the documents was just his infantile way of expressing rage at being tossed out of office.

Trump claims he's 'at least as innocent' as Pence in classified document scandal ????

"Just announced that they are not going to bring charges against Mike Pence on the document hoax," Trump posted to Truth Social. "That’s great, but when am I going to be fully exonerated, I’m at least as innocent as he is. And what about [President] Joe Biden, who is hiding at least 1850 boxes, and some located in Chinatown, DC? When will the witch hunt against 'TRUMP' stop?"

Yes. Trump is just as guilty as Pence in the theft of documents. The big difference is Trump will be locked up for obstruction of justice.

False. To be judged guilty it would have to be shown that Pence purposely took those documents in defiance of the law. and/or that he failed to return them when they were requested. Apparently, there was insufficient evidence or maybe no evidence to incriminate Pence. Whereas there are bushels of evidence against Trump.

Has anyone else noticed that when it comes to any discussion about Trump's misdeeds, the basic argument is ignored?  In this case, the documents in question, were not his.  He has stolen, illegally taken, or whatever you want to call the original 'crime.'  He had no right to take the documents, and everything thereafter is criminal.

Baiting, bickering posts and replies reported and removed.  Continue and face a suspension.

You'll note that Trump's defenders cite the alleged motives of the government rather than the facts of the case. The fact is that the National Archives gave Trump every opportunity to return those documents. The law is clear: once the National Archives requests the return of documents, the laws says you must comply or you will be in violation., Despite which, the National Archives negotiated with Trump for months before turning to the Justice Dept. for assistance.
