webfact
These photos show the new Suan Son Pradiphat train station. The station has been constructed as part of the overhaul of Thailand’s southern train line. Hua Hin Today will soon be publishing a special feature about this but all the stations on the southern line, including the new Hua Hin train station, have been designed to meet Universal Design Standards. Universal Design Standards, also known as inclusive design or design for all, refer to a set of principles and guidelines aimed at creating products, environments, and systems that can be used and accessed by as many people as possible, regardless of their age, abilities, or disabilities. PETERTHEEATER
Very nice but money wasted due to very low passenger throughput. I suspect it is to promote the popular 'Park of the Seven Kings' within walking distance. Is there a dedicated passenger access connecting to the main road?
KhunLA
They're revamping all the station along the southern line, from Phetchaburi to Chumphon. Guess in preparation for the millions of tourist expected to visit the "Riviera Thailand', as it's being promoted. Agree with Peter, and passengers load surely don't dictated the size of new stations, and money spent. Ours is going to be huge now, and nice, but could easily have been half that size.
