Sure, but before then.... fish will fly, dogs will talk, tuk tuk drivers will charge the correct fare, etc.

You can bet any (ill) deeds will be, as usual, brushed under the carpet.

To be sure.

Nothing will come of it.

In any case, Pita and his circle will require permission to proceed with such a proposition.

All requests will be denied, naturally.....

The judiciary is the ( totally compromised regime owned) tool which will be used to keep him out of power.

Then a reform of the judiciary should be the first step.

Pita may ends up not becoming an MP, as he held media company shares which prohibits him from being elected. That would be the law, not a compromised judiciary.

However, to be elected PM does not require to be an MP. So he still could and should be in power.

That won't exactly endear Prayut's senator friends towards supporting Pita!

I agree, an unwise move but then the 'young' are always impatient. This shows his political immaturity, for moves of this magnitude you wait until the crown is firmly on your head. It is not only unwise but will also be fruitless, proving Prayut's 'crimes' would occupy the courts for years and be impossible to achieve, the number of excuses that could be brought forward are countless, ranging from political expediency to ineptitude, good intent that went wrong, a dire emergency in society demanded immediate action etc. nothing will come of it. Pita is learning the ropes of being a political puppet master but he lacks the experience and the necessary cunning, a few years in office and he will be indistinguishable from any other Thai PM in the past, once virginity is lost the legs are easily opened.

I think we all know that if there was any possibility the new government would hold him to account a coup would be forthcoming.

At a press conference, the Move Forward leader confirmed Prayut will undoubtedly be held accountable since he rose to power by way of the 2014 coup and ran the country as an unelected head of government up to now.

Not a smart move IMO.

He should wait until he is the PM before he starts saying things like that. Now I am sure Prayut is thinking of ways to stop this from happening. There was another PM Prayut did not like and we all know what happened to her.

So much for the "Move Forward Party"

Starting off by dwelling in the past.

Pathetic.

So you're saying that all law breakers should be given an amnesty?

He talks too much for his own good. Surely acquired new enemies since the election. The more he talks, the less chance he'll make it to PM. I like MFP but stop talking before you've even formed an actual government. Time will judge what you do - not what you say - assuming they even make it to government.

He is not doing himself any favors. He should use a lot more discretion at this point.I actually don't think he's going succeed going by all the potential enemies he's making.

Constant fighting from the same swamp.

Pita comes from the same swamp to actually think he has the mental capacity to pull a couple on his own.

This guy was the safest choice to use as a puppet a face. You watch him when he first came in to office compare it with the picture from this story.  The guy was wearing the wrong color socks although retired his attired pajamas and his old army uniform today hair dyeed trimmed everyday, suits he looks sharp PM material. Reward he has a few billions in his Swiss bank and those pulling his strings who help with the coup,  drew up the constitutions for him all got rich and richer.

The fighting will never stop it isn't in their culture,  Pita got his education in the West like many of the elite before him the PM before Yickluck,  the Finance Minister,  all Ivy League education return to government anything change?

Even if they wanted to change they cant the problem and corruption is too deep. The fighting the coalition is all based on making sure we get our share before the people figure it out.

That is Thai politics 101 from my window.

Back to Pita, I wonder if he has considered that the same accountability for actions done by a PM could apply to him later.

Also quite amazing how a guy who is not PM yet, and is under investigation for his shares, cannot keep his mouth shut for a moment. Sorry, his fingers away from facebook.

The loftier the building, the deeper must the foundation be laid.

This guy is not good at playing the political game (and at this stage, he needs to). He should've sung any tune the senators wanted him to sing (about ALL topics) and after being made PM and forming a government, he could've taken steps to maje the changes necessary for Thailand to "Move Forward". He only needed 12 moths until the senators were out and then big consitutional changes could be made. It almost seems like he is intentionally throwing the fight ????

The guy who just lead his party to an astounding election victory is no good at politics…. says SABloke

????????????

Cant believe the guy could possibly be that stupid.

Perhaps he knows the senate will stitch him up and is setting the stage for the aftermath.

Perhaps, what is stupid, is underestimating the first person to beat Thaksin in an election in over twenty years?
