TM30 instead of a Cert of Residence when getting driving License?

Featured Replies

Check with the DLT to get all of the requirements. They used to have University Students who spoke English helping out.

LOR or Yellow house book (if they feel like it.)  are the only things accepted.

No.  Not acceptable.

They want either a certificate of residence from immigration or a notarized affidavit from your embassy.

(I got lucky...........the clerk accepted my notarized/legalized "affidavit of singleness" from my embassy.)

Thai bureaucracy at it's best.  One time, I used my DL to get the residence certificate to get my new DL ????

They gave you a certificate of residence  using only your driving licence and didn't need your passport?

Don't need a passport for certificate of residency. Need to show copy of these:

TM30 / 90 day if 1 year visa / passport info page / arrival stamp / date of permitted stay + photo.

60baht if you're willing to receive through the post / 500baht if next day service.

If you have a work permit, that can be used instead of a residence certificate.
