Is England good enough?

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

After England choked up the first test in a comedy of errors, the way the second test is now looks like being a draw.

Are they good enough to win a game or is, as Kevin Pieterson says, the English bowling line up too slow and timid?

The only thing I see from stopping this being a 5-0 whitewash to the Aussies again is the miserable English weather.

Both sides have good batsmen and bowlers, IMO the difference is fielding. The Poms are dropping more catches.

Would someone care to explain what this subject/OP is about?

"Is England good enough?"

At what?

The responses to the OP tell me nothing!

Cricket, England v Australia - the Ashes.

# You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.
# Each man that's in the side that's in the field goes out and when he's out comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.
# When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.
# When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out.
# Sometimes, there are men still in and not out.
# There are men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.
# Depending on the weather and the light, the umpires can also send everybody in, no matter if they're in or out.
# When both sides have been in and all the men are out (including those who are not out), then the game is finished

Please explain the above!

I read a post that does not explain what it is about!

The responses do no better.

I ask a simple question and get meaningless answers.

Is this some secret society gathering?

Pretty obvious the topic.

At 311 for 6 we could be in trouble ????

324 for 8 at 18.25 Thailand

325 for 9 at 18.27

And now 325 all out - 91 runs behind.

Not to me until the person above @Liquorice explained it all so succinctly!

You may notice, if you bother to read the OP and replies, that the word "cricket" was never mentioned until then!

Well that is all over now and I have had a good innings and so I am now OUT and going for my tea!

Stokes lost the Ashes on day 1 test 1. Worst declaration in history.

You just don't get satire do you?

This is an international Forum!

The word cricket was not mentioned in the OP or the initial responses!

There are only a total of 12 teams have that been given Test status by the International Cricket Council (ICC) till date.

Which other sports have both bowlers and batsmen?

There are clues in the OP, such as "test" , "bowling", and "Kevin Pieterson". The second post ( mine ) talks about batsmen, bowlers, fielding and dropped catches.

It's a bit like golf, with talk of drivers and wedges. Like the English, the Scots have rarely been much good at the game they invented. The current world # 1 is either Irish or Spanish.

After dating my wife for quite some time we decided to get married. Before the ceremony I told her "sweetheart, there's something I need to explain that I've been hiding from you. I'm crazy about golf. I play golf every weekend and watch every game on tv"

She said "that's ok sweetheart. There's something I need to explain that I've been hiding from you. I'm a hooker"

I said "that's ok sweetheart. When you're teeing off keep your left arm straight and your eye on the ball"

BazzBall, where the last 6 wickets go for 9 runs. Genius.

Since the release of the report on the institutionised way cricket behaves, I have stopped following it, I don't want to watch a bunch anti this anti that bigots running around a piece of grass, pretending it's a sport.

At least you can laugh and smile about the humiliation. :)

I'm never wrong.

Cricket beats baseball

What sport are those two teams playing and what was the score?

This clearly explains the game to all those that don't come from a Commonwealth country.

Lucky for drs. Umpiring has been bad. Marnus lbw clearly outside off. Smith missed it by an inch in 1st innings.

Watching paint dry and cricket are neck and neck in the boring race, followed closely with watching grass grow  :omfg:
