One-Two-Go discounts

AVIATION :The budget carrier One-Two-Go Airlines is offering a 26% fare discount on its Bangkok-Krabi flight to fill up seats during the current low-season.

An all-inclusive one-way ticket costs 1,300 baht, against the normal rate 1,750 baht, while the purchase of a round-trip ticket includes one free night in a four-star hotel in the southern resort province on weekdays on a twin-sharing basis.

The low-fare tickets can be booked for travel up to Sept 30.

The airline is contributing 50 baht from each Bangkok-Krabi ticket from now to Sept 30 to the Wishing Well Foundation, a foundation helping terminal-stage child cancer patients in Thailand

BA/Qantas discounts

AVIATION :British Airways and Qantas are offering reduced fares for passengers travelling in first and business class from Bangkok to Australia.

Return tickets from Bangkok to Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney start from 70,000 baht in business class and 110,000 baht in first. The fares exclude airport taxes, service fees, insurance, fuel and other surcharges.

Travel is from now until Aug 31 for the first outbound flight and for a stay of up to 12 months. One free stopover is included and one additional stopover permitted at a charge of 5,000 baht.

'Bonds for the People'

INVESTING :The Bond Electronic Exchange will hold an investor exhibition in Ubon Ratchathani on Saturday.

The "Bonds for the People" fair will be held at the Laithong Hotel from 9 am, and feature presentations from local banks, brokers and Stock Exchange of Thailand officials about the bond market. Maersk-Damco link

SHIPPING : Maersk Logistics' forwarding operation has been merged with that of the Dutch freight forwarding company Damco Sea & Air to form Damco Thailand, according to Morten Engelstoft, CEO of Maersk in Southeast Asia.

The combined business will trade under the new Damco name. The new organisation also includes a larger network of wholly owned offices in Southeast Asia, with each country providing stronger, more direct support to local customers, he said.

In Southeast Asia, Damco will have 26 offices in seven countries and more than 400 full-time staff.

Maersk Logistics acquired Damco Sea & Air in 2005 in connection with the acquisition of P&O Nedlloyd.
