Do you really have so much time on your hands? I envy you. That China does despicable things is true, and I would have added the plight of the Uighurs to your list, but if one were to list the despicable things done by USA (as well as by other governments around the world) I doubt the list would be much shorter.

But your post is completely out of context. The OP argues that China is a threat to us all by installing a spy station in Cuba. Ever heard of Guantanamo?

Who's side would you rather be on???

This sounds like very good news for the Cuban people.

Cuban food is not so hot.

Lots of black beans, and more black beans, and maybe some plantains thrown in, and then some mystery meat they call a "steak".

image.jpeg.007ef03f37c91609b6f5d2c46631f9e8.jpeg

"Do Cubans eat plantains? Fried Sweet Plantains - Cook2eatwell In Cuban cuisine, fried sweet plantains are one of the most popular sides, rivaled only by fried green plantains, or tostones in Spanish. The interesting thing is that these two completely different dishes are made from the same ingredient – a plantain". (cook2eatwell.com)

Chinese cuisine, conversely, is DYNAMITE good.

Chinese have been eating well since before anyone lived on Cuba, maybe.

In my view, China is moving its forces into Cuba as a gesture of its benevolent soft-power policy.

The US turned it's back on Cuba when Castro wanted to make friends.

It's been a very long time that Cuba has been subsisting on black beans, rice and bananas, driving 1950s automobiles.

No doubt, the Cuban people will welcome this Chinese fostered improvement to their customary diet.

Cubans love spicy food, anyway.

No worries, I think.

Yes, it's 95 miles from Florida. How far from China?

I lived through the Cuban Missile Crisis, and it was NOT fun.

The entire region is seen by the USA as part of the United States.

Any encroachment by China will never be tolerated.

Let's wait and see what transpires.

Things may get ugly.

An yet, NATO has nukes on RU's doorsteps, (against previous agreements to be neutral states) and USA has CSG cruising off the coast of CH & elsewhere, w/nuke subs parked all around the word in striking distance of any country it wants to be near.

But coming near the USA is what ...

... oh I know ... Hypocrisy

China is up to no good all over the world. They represent the greatest threat to our well being and our future. If they ever gained control of the world, would you want to be a victim of their organ harvesting programs? Or end up in a concentration camp, because you said something critical of them?

No thanks. Xi is a great threat to us, as is the heinous CCP.

What about Guantanamo or any of the secret CIA prisons?

But, can you equate this with the Uigher concentration camps?

I disagree with every USA foreign policy, and quite honestly, wish they didn't have one.   Simply not needed, as quite self sufficient, and nothing but wasted lives & money playing the world's police force & corporate security agency.

Yes, if you as USA put sanctions on a country, like Venezuela, Iran. The people will suffer and from that suffering there maybe could be an internal riot. Political ok then, you force by sanctions, suffering people to stand up and kill the USA opponent?

In Syria, the USA wanted a guy shut down, so they let "my"country do it.

The guy was killed in a bombing, but 70-ish innocent people died as well and many injured.

"My"country had almost war with Venezuela for arresting some Venezuelan guy for USA. Warships were already sailing. By letting the guy go it descaled.

A critical journalist was killed in a consulate, but as USA needed oil, they let the killer go.

Due to banking with an American bank a whole country was bankrupted, leaving people in poverty. For that matter 2008 crisis is also thanks to America, leaving many countries in problems. and therefor people.

Afro Americans are still suppressed, but also all other "Americans", as they pay tax and the rich ones dont. The original inhabitants (so called Indians) of "USA" are still also suppressed.

And there are way more things USA is as behaving as bad as China, or even worse.

So what i hear about China, this article they are on Cuba. Making some islands and shifting sea boundaries. And Thaiwan is still officially China. And HK will be, is China.

Further in China they control the people in embarrassing way with cams and penalties.

But other countries will or are doing the same, but keep it a secret.

So fat yes you can equate this with the Uigher concentration camps !

OK. You made your point and your hatred of the US is clear. Let's talk in 15 years, and see how you feel about the dominance and oppression of the CCP, in your life. My guess is they will be far worse. So far, they are not wearing their power lightly.

Yes, correct. I don't like Thailand. I love Thailand. I love every day I spend here, and am very grateful for the quality of life here. I really like most Thai people. However, I despise the government. But, that could be said of the US, and many others.

Enough said. Feel free to enlighten us on what you consider a perfect nation. I could go on, but I won't.

No its not the countries, but the people "running" it, the system they are working in.

In 15 years im probably dead and China doesnt matter in it, they are the same as any other country. Im now more worried about USA (system) influence. They try to make a global (USA) system working, but it is always the same, their own gain on costs of others.

EU system, dont like it. "My" country system it is a crying shame.

History tells every time again, one "leader"down the drain and other a**e is running the show again and of course it goes down hill.

Probably more to "worry" about moslims these days. Probably they didnt forget the past and now are chopping and trying to be, the ones.

China is there already, you like to buy with alieexpress, Lazada Those ones already shuts down shops and buying things you cant buy in your own or guest country.

You are all ready depending on China. Also medicines come from ..China.

Cant say anything for that more, otherwise moderators would say it is trolling, but has to do with corona "vaccines".

Nowadays, satellites and the Internet are probably the most efficient ways to spy on a foreign country. Is a presence in Cuba really useful to China, or is it rather a symbolic move?

Having experience in electronic intelligence gathering, I disagree.   Using satellites and the internet are only two different ways to gather intelligence.   Even human intelligence  gathering is still a viable option for collection of intelligence.

Ok. I recognise I am not a specialist. So what would be the significant advantages drawn from being in Cuba, in terms of intelligence activities?

In my opinion, it’s not about intelligence gathering at all. China has all the intelligence they need about the US. It’s about showing the US that what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.. It’s about China telling the US that it is not afraid and will not be bullied. It’s about telling the US that if it continues to arm Taiwan, then China will arm Cuba. About b****y time, if you ask me. US hegemony is on the decline. Everyone knows this, except for the ‘Muricans.

I think that it's more symbolic than really useful. They want to show they are able to replucate what the U.S. Is doing in Taiwan.

However, the last thing Cuba may want is a conflict with the U.S. Cuba is also playing its own game.

Actually (shock)I agree with you on normalizing relations with Cuba they are much to close of a neighbor to be quarreling with also I think the Cubans would prefer a more open relationship and economy they after a good taste of prosperity they would dump the dictatorship and evolve towards democracy.that would have most likely allready happened if Trump didn’t screw things up.also please don’t try to (label) me or my sources of information as extreme left it is akin to me saying that you love only right wing hate misinformation
