Renovating our Condo in Lat Phrao

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My wife and I have just bought a Condo in Lat Phrao, which needs renovating.

I have read plenty of horror stories (including on this forum) about how difficult this can be, particularly in finding reliable builders.

We are looking to make some structural changes (including removing part of a non-load bearing wall and replacing a door) as well as installing a new kitchen and renovating the bathroom.

Any recommendations for a reliable building and plumbing firm would therefore be great.

Separately, we need to buy a new air conditioning unit, and we were hoping to find a firm that specialises in installing energy efficient (eco friendly) units. Again, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!

re Air Con

We have been using Mitsubishi Air Cons for over 15 years now in our condos, all bought, installed and serviced by Kang Yong Co., LTD it's a Thai language website only...

They have been reliable and responsive over the years.

HomePro. Maybe a bit more expensive, but they offer a warranty. (Which is probably better than a warranty from local contractors.)

A/C use Daikin or Mitsubishi. Don’t go with SaijoD, I had two and both broke fairly quickly.

Thanks for the advice on Air Con units, we have been thinking about a Haier unit but I will check out Mitsubishi.

We have been speaking to our condo management about the renovation but they are very busy at the moment, and wouldn't be able to start for several months it seems.

Mitsubishi.

We've got 6 Mitsubishi units in our house.

Excellent and durable.

Great warranties and Mitsubishi will come anywhere to fix it if there's a problem.
