Officials from the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection on Monday morning observed that the new “X” on top of the building formerly known as Twitter’s headquarters was being dismantled, according to Patrick Hannan, the department’s spokesman.

The news comes after the company was issued a notice of violation (NOV) Friday for work without a permit for the new sign, which flashes at night, that adorns the building.

“Over the weekend, the Department of Building Inspection and City Planning received 24 complaints about the unpermitted structure, including concerns about its structural safety and illumination. This morning, building inspectors observed the structure being dismantled. A building permit is required to remove the structure but, due to safety concerns, the permit can be secured after the structure is taken down,” Hannan said in an email to CNN.

“The property owner will be assessed fees for the unpermitted installation of the illuminated structure. The fees will be for building permits for the installation and removal of the structure, and to cover the cost of the Department of Building Inspection and the Planning Department’s investigation,” he added.

CNN has reached out to the company formerly known as Twitter for comment.

Somewhat appropriate, as X-rated services were available in that area until a few years back.

Calling the company X is pretty creative, no?

On the name 'X', in the Netherlands a suicide powder has been sold, illegally, under the name 'X'.

My Samsung phone just had three X icons appear on the notification bar at the top of the screen.

Trying to explain to her indoors that I don't get porn notifications...

Believe it or not, this isn't the first time Musk tried rebranding a company's name to X. His bizarre fixation certainly didn't t didn't turn out well for him then. I guess this time he can't be fired.

Elon Musk tried to rebrand PayPal as X.com. He was ousted as CEO.

Something to do with his sexual preferences?

Elon Musk turns 'I love Canada' tweet into naughty joke

Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter — now known as X — on Monday posted a photo of himself wearing a shirt with “I ♥ Canada” across the chest and the same phrase in the caption. What could have been a wonderful message quickly turned crude, however. In the photo, Musk is seen covering part of the word “Canada” to read “anal.”

Used to think highly of Musk , owned stock on Tesla that I sold and made a pretty penny. After listening to him talk and learning more on how he got there , I am beginning to change my opinion of the man. I think all of this is beginning to go to his head and he thinks he knows betters than the experts he hired  , who got him where he is.

Having said all that, I hope one day I fail as horribly as he does.

Love him and hate him.  I like space x. But is it skynet?   While I wasn't one to jump into ev's.  I will be quite disappointed with Elon if the low  milage on a xharge turns out to be true. Plus that he had a group set up to cancel people's milage complaints.

He obviously smoked a fat dubby when he offered 44 billion for twitter.  Real stupid he didn't have some bot count backout clause.

What kind of respect does a guy get when he thinks he can just put up a sign in a big building.  You know the sign company  and his underlings told him they needed to get a permit .  But his power made them do illegal actions. Similar followers as a current indicted person. .

I've  also read about his texas boring company wanting to dump waste water directly into a river.   In Texas you can do as you please with your land but there is some controversy about his boring company's property.   He has dripped from a star to my sus list .

I do love his canada shirt statement. It shows he is kinky and sees things differently.

The danger with shorting is that a stock can only fall so much , but it can rise infinitely . So if I understand this correctly the best you can do is gain $267.43 per share but the sky is the limit on your potential losses

The limit of my potential loss is $100. You are right though, I don't often short stocks and I didn't use leverage. At present I'm a bit under water but I'll just hold it until I'm in the black. I did have a short on PLTR but gave that up after losing $30 of a $100 bet. Not gonna relent on TSLA.

Unless you've put a stop loss on the order the potential profit is $100 (if stock goes to $0) and the potential loss is theoretically infinite. Realistically if your account has just a few hundred dollars worth in it then you will be liquidated before it goes out of hand.

There is actually a default stop loss of $50 applied by my online broker. I leave it on for shorts and take it off for longs.

It is  a crazy sky high valuation for Tesla.   Larger than a big group of car companies.   More and more teslas are now parked waiting for parts.  I read that the build quality is poor .  My 91 F250 runs great, looks like crap   but Thai wife is proud to be seen in it.  Parts are readily available and i can do most work myself.   Just wait until non Tesla service personal start getting killed by the dangers of working near these batteries.   There are a few YouTube channels showing these non Tesla supported repair places showing how dangerous and hard it is to open up these structural batteries.

I should also add .  How is the USA or the rhe World ever going to get enough charging stations much less the grid capacity to charge all these EVs?  Look at these 6,9, 12, 18 bay gas stations.  With lines like Costco, takes average of 5 mins to fill up gas tanks not 45 mins.  So we need 10 times more charging stations than gas pumps.   Never going to happen.  I saw a recent government meeting where i think a GOP member asked the head of the federal dept that sho6ukd know,  how much electricity is currently needed  for evs and the future and he had no answer.

Turns out you can run that city with only 20% of the staff!

Many EV car owners never go near a charging station. They charge from home or a regular parking facility, like work or shopping centers.
