correct me if I'm wrong but looking from the outside in, it appears to be always someone else's fault, no accountability for their actions.

100% correct.

Funnily enough they are super critical of everyone else. But super sensitive to any percieved criticism.

Twist things. The real story versus the headline in this OP is another classical example of this.

And they talk about the thai males having frail egos???? Thai men are 100 times tougher than Brits in my honest opinion.

And as we can see in thhe OP video, pound for pound way tougher physically.

Actually, if you're a tough person, you don't need to resort to kicking someone in the back, after stomping on them. A tough person would think nothing of a little slap and just escort the person out, especially if they are supposed to be a bouncer, which is what a real bouncer does. If it was a punch and not a slap, then you punch back, hard enough to wake the person up. Like has been mentioned many times on this forum, locals need to resort to ganging up 4 or 5 against 1, all the same size, and hit with sticks and kicking. Not referring to Muay Thai fighters, who can handle themselves, and don't need to pick fights, The average local here does what we see daily, and I've not only noticed this for 6 years, but heard it many years before I ever moved here, both by foreigners and Thais back in the US.  I've known a few Brits, and they weren't weak men. Just average in build. Hard to judge a whole nation from a few retirees. Each case is individual. A small man that's fast can beat a large man who's slow. A large man that puts his weight behind his punches can deck a small man very easily. Being tough isn't having to kick. Kicking, unless you're in a stand up fight, isn't something a tough person does, but a coward. And kicking isn't stomping on someone's back. There are specific kicks you learn training. Not kicking wildly as I see on TV almost everyday. That's for those that can't hurt with their fists.

One of the reasons why well trained Muay Thai and other fighters can be more restrained then a typical pissed off bloke is that the fighters have years of training being repeatedly hit.

When that happens they lose the emotional reaction and anger to being hit. So it’s more like they are just doing a hobby rather then fighting. If they are in the ring you see emotional reactions from the audience vs just calm techniques from the fighters.

Bouncers should be trained to use 'reasonable force' when dealing with violent altercations, not beating someone to a pulp who is already on the floor helpless.

Training animals who have been taught from day one that it's ok to go 3-4-5 on 1 might be a little trying as that could turn things around.

Just saying, besides, this will always continue, so best to avoid drinking to much and avoid animals looking to gang up on you like a pack of wolves, I have seen it time and time again in person, and yes it's despicable.

Mouthy brit <deleted> getting a touch up from the bouncer is fine by me.

Might go to the bar this weekend and buy the bouncers a drink.

I'll join you ????

I'm setting up a gofundme page for the bouncer, to cover any fines or other expenses he may have.

Please stop posting here. I’m tired of reading your posts.

Everyone has the right to post Jim. Just ignore their ignorance and hate. Some hate Brits and are the quickest to point out that all Brits act a certain way. Some are afraid of living here and feel the need to stick up for locals even if they are acting wrong, especially against other farangs. Some hate their own kind because it reminds them of a bad life back in their home country. Some are sadists, and like to see anyone get hurt. Anyone who sticks up for anyone else kicking a person when they are on the ground, unless they were protecting their own family and feared violence against them, is disturbed.

Iv'e been on a Sabaticle for a few days so I have been unable to post but i'm back now. In my country Door Security ie Bouncers have to go on a course and once obtained there pass has to be displayed on his arm or on his clothing visable to customers. The Thai security staff seen in this Vid are just thugs they show there toughness by kicking an old man on the floor realy hard men. At the end of the day is it ok to kick the crap out of an old drunk man when he is on the floor or wade in 3 handed to attack the Son.

The guy in the vid looks out of shape. I’m not sure about the old man and elderly stuff. I’m 54, so it’s just 6 years difference. I don’t think I’d just get knocked down like a bowling pin. Nobody calls me “pops”, but if they did they’d be my boy. ????

I see the clip and hear the reporting that he was asked to leave a go-go which means he was being a bad boy.  So he was already a trouble maker, he then CHOSE to hang around and argue, then took a SWING at the security staffer!  DUMB  If you have more evidence, I'll change my mind, but I'm going by the "facts" as alleged in the article.  You are wrong, in America, the police can kick you while you are on the ground with absolute impunity. Happens all the time and the courts always look the other way.  It's "illegal" here in Thailand too by the way.  Just not enforced.

I feel sorry for you if you think there is any justification in the thai practice of mass attacking elderly men and women, kicking and stomping on their heads with impunity as long as they are foreigners. It really sickens me at the "they must have done something wrong attitude". Sick and sad people. Again a slap is a reaction not aggression (something happened right before that slap, something you never saw and my guess is "spat on").

To the many posters which seem to lay the blame entirely onto the Tourists including pointing out that it is 'common knowledge' to never argue with Thais for all the known reasons and retaliation by the bouncers is absolutely justified since the older Brit slapped one across the face.

Consider this:

The ones at the receiving end of this mayhem were genuine T.OURISTS and possibly first timers to Thailand.

It is certainly not common knowledge to them how to deal with fragile and unhinged Thai Egos.

Furthermore, anybody condoning punches followed by kicks to the head by 2 or more cowards while already on the ground in response to a slap by a 60 year old as justified retaliation, has moved way beyond accepted social norms.

Lets use you as an example of 'social norm'... Whats been the outcome when you slapped security after being escorted out a niteclub  pi$$ed?

It is a completely shameful behaviour  by the bouncers.

Right, how dare they to defend themselves after they got hit first! And by the way, when someone attacks you you have the right to take them out so they can’t continue to attack you, it’s called self-defense, which is exactly what they did! The Brit’s should’ve kept their hands to themselves and accept the fact that they were asked to leave and that’s all there is to it!

It's not the arguing with the Thais that resulted in the Brit getting a lesson. He took a swing at the head of a Thai. How is smacking someone in the head not "common knowledge"? Is that a "socially accepted norm" too, in Britain maybe? He broke the barrier of respect, decency, socially accepted norm (whatever you want to call it), and then expected to be treated by those norms?

Please don't lump me in with what many think all farangs here are, fat, lazy, bald, too old etc.

You seem like a pretty well balanced guy who posts sensible things but can I just ask one thing:

People may be fat and that's most likely their fault - choice of diet or choose not to excercise.

People may be lazy - almost certainly a choice.

Too old?  Well that depends but again, probably a choice involved.

Bald?  Why do people use baldness when posting derogatory statements? I'm bald and I wasn't given a choice in the matter.  However, its never held me back or presented any problems in meeting the opposite sex.

I just don't understand why people list it when they are name calling - I'm quite happy to be bald but as I say, I wasn't given a choice.

I don't know what you're asking of me. I didn't make any derogatory statements about being bald. Nothing wrong with it. Some even choose it in lieu of having a full head of hair. Their choice. Most of us lose hair when we age anyway.I just asked him to not lump me in with what many think all farangs here are, meaning they think being bald is bad. I didn't mean it that way, although you might assume I did. Nothing wrong with being fat, old or lazy either. It's just how some look at us.

So let's get to the point if you are drunk and old and in your 60s unable to defend yourself when 3 younger Thais are kicking the crap out of you when you're on the floor you think its acceptable and deserving.
