You are good at twisting events and ignoring inconvenient truths. The alleged links with Russia are nothing at all to do with what he is currently charged with, backed up with mountains of evidence. The problem, and it is a huge one, is that many - but it seems a slowly diminishing number - accept all he says as true and everything against him as lies, despite video and other evidence. He is such a blatant liar in his own fantasy world, laughably so, that if his lawyers ever allow him to take the stand he will quickly be shot down in flames by people infinitely smarter than he is. 8 2

I think it is safe to assume that, unlike Caesar's wife, nobody in politics is above suspicion, the least prerequisite for the post is narcissism which Trump has well above what is required. Biden certainly has his age against him but unlike Trump there is no proof of wrong doing against him which even the big boys in the GOP admit. As for 'loonies' one only has to read the sewage that comes out of the mouths of Majorie Taylor Greene and her ilk or Trump himself to know who is unhinged. The lack of dignity, class and general knowledge in the GOP makes them a perfect fit for their voters. 7 2 1

The only other argument I can see is that it does not specify “presidents”, though they would seem to be included as “elected”. I think the presidency qualifies as "Officer of the United States" "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability. " 2

How many lies must the Lamestream media be caught in before you realize they are nothing but a propaganda machine bought and paid for by Soros and the Democratic party? A long interview with an investigative reporter who has followed both the 2016 and 2020 elections and what he had to say was what I already have heard but said in ways so clear, so shockingly clear that your assumptive questioning is indeed spot-on. Trump intended to call out the national guard and other military elements, declare martial law, stop the electoral college vote, suspend the constitution and remain in power and then once this had been accomplished to destroy all branches of the government and rule unopposed. He has, and is still, saying this out, clearly unambiguously, and loudly. I'm not a big fan of links but this gash needs some mustard on the side. 1 1

It seems no matter what he says, no matter what he is charged with, no matter what he does, he is above the law in the eyes of his followers. What can one say? I hope they are somehow able to get him convicted. He needs to be banished into the wilderness. Agreed. The general question for me as a non-US-citizen: Is it all what 350 million have to offer? Popular Post Lacessit Posted August 11, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 11, 2023 The saddest part of this saga are the jellyback Republicans. If Trump gets to run, and loses in 2024, will the GOP have enough spine to tell a four-time loser enough is enough? This could only happen in America. In most other democracies, felons or those charged with a felony are automatically disqualified from holding office. It is also very rare for a loser in politics elsewhere to get more than one chance, two is usually the maximum. 3 1 1 2

Following the American Civi War, did all those who participated on the Confederate side have to be found guilty of this in a court of law before being barred from holding office? I do not know, but I would be surprised if the Reconstruction Republican government would have set this as the bar … It will be interesting to follow the developments. American Civil War only went quiet, not ended. That is why the Federal American Govnt. has only two political parties still !

Manafort's charges in relation to Mueller's Russia investigation are conspicuous by their absence. Manafort last year admitted he conspired with Russia. 'President Trump's former campaign chairman pleaded guilty in September 2018 to conspiracy against the United States and conspiracy to obstruct justice — charges that stemmed from a range of alleged crimes committed over more than a decade as a lobbyist and, later, a member of the Trump campaign'.
