What is this nonsense?

Last night's leftover; spicy sausage, egg noodles w/sausage & onions, and since brekkie, added a cheese omelet

Kai-Jeow crab meat on bread with butter and a little ketchup.

And bread with cream cheese and avocado. (no, I am not a millennial)

Scrambled El Mexico

Untitled.jpg

One can of tuna in salt water (hated every bite ), banana, and lots of coffee with cream.  Lunch is where I feast!

2 Fried eggs & pork, with homemade toasted bread with grape jelly - 4 pc....A glass of non-fat milk...

My wife also made a vegetable soup of which I had a bowl....

Then, as I'm finishing up, and full - she pops this dish of fruit in front of me - "eat this too, it's good for you".....

Basically, if I want to eat anything that's bad for me, I usually go out & to eat....

My wife works hard to provide a healthy "menu" variety IMG_20250103_113430.thumb.jpg.b007655cc12362bcd265f238674c8844.jpgfor us....

Scrambled Alaska (salmon + tomato), and the dark stuff is Crispy Onion Spicy Oil.

With a side of 'desert' carbs.   It's not always what you eat, for being healthy, but how and when you eat.

First meal after a 15 hr overnight fast.  Protein & fat eaten first, to slow the carb/sugar digestion, low to no, sugar/insulin spike.

Carbs: homemade bread (no sugar), homemade black currant preseerves (no sugar), even an absurd amount of homemade butter added, again to slow carb digestion.

Afterward, now, dog will take me for my morning walk in the park, again, slowing carb digestion.

Eating healthy, ever crap carbs, is easy, with a little fore thought.   ENJOY

Not sure how this post can confuse anyone.  Think someone needs to do a bit of research, how to eat, to control insulin spikes from carbs/sugar.

How to, eating order ...

Taking a walk after eating ...

My fave breakfast is proper French Toast. So far, I've found none up to snuff in Chiang Mai.

... lay out for a bottle of maple syrup.

For excellent French Toast, try the new Route 66 Diner, East of town.

I've ordered it twice in recent months.

First time was very good: down-home style, not hi-so restaurant fancy.

But second time was not very good.  I'd bet they brought in a temp cook or something like that.

Still, worth a try to see if they can return to the original standard.

Has occurred to me to bring my own bottle of maple syrup.

Waitrose brand from TOPS Food Hall.

But I haven't done that yet: don't want to get mobbed by my fellow American breakfast eaters.

Skipped the horrible hotel breakfest and went for this instead. Fantastic

After 12 days with hotel breakfest, where Centara in Korat was the best and the hotel we staying now in Koh Mak had so horrible coffe decided to go outside. A very good decision

Great coffe and two slices for 180baht

Trying not to make the 'Daily Eggs' too boring ...

Waitrose is an English supermarket.

Honey and Maple syrup are the same as normal sugar, but taste nicer.

For my fellow North American, expat, breakfast-eaters, maple syrup can be an essential food element.

So, I want to clear up any confusion about that.

Waitrose brand name maple syrup (100% pure Canadian)  is sold at TOPS "Food Hall" supermarkets in Thailand.

maplesyrup.thumb.jpg.789b4e289e6d6c04e3f72461639e5498.jpg

But no guarantee that it will be in stock at all times.

And smaller TOPS, such as "Daily" are not likely to carry expensive farang food like Canadian maple syrup  ... only the much cheaper "Imperial" brand chemical sludge.

Suggestions:

For a very tasty beverage, I put 2 Tablespoons of maple syrup in a glass with very cold, plain soda water.

Gives a delicious "cream soda" with none of the artificial chemicals in "Hales" syrup.

For an even more delicious "ice cream soda" substitute, put on top of that about 1/2 cup of heavy cream.

Returning to breakfast topic:

For North American expats here who remember church pancake suppers, the pancakes at Bucoliq restaurant out in San Sai are very close to that taste and texture.

Not 100%, but very close.

Not sure about canning, I know we can freeze them.  My wife purées then, then boils then down, dries, then rolls them.  They keep in the fridge a very long time.

Fake cheese slices? What happened? Have you depleted the budget? 😊

Seriously, buy real cheese. There are some things that just aren't acceptable in a thread dedicated to good eating. Cheese slice product....? What is that? Looks like Processed cheese. Have some respect for your insides 😊
