In a corrupt , 3rd world country , there is no justice . The rich and ' influential ' control and design everything , the sheeple just have to follow , and beware if they dare to criticize the autocracy , the law will be applied to them in full extend , and they end up in prison for just telling the truth .

Same for overstaying foreigners , who never did any damage to the holy kingdom .

Imprisoned , deported , extorted , no one cares in Thailand ...

S--  hithole country , really not worth staying here for just being ripped off and regarded as " unwanted alien " .

Correct, but it doesn't stop at Thaksin. It seems that a lot of people on this forum spend a lot of their time at the keyboard bashing and criticizing every aspect of the country they have chosen to live in.

Additionally, when Royal Pardons come around for important royal celebration days, such as King or Queens birthday, or his fathers remembrance day, etc  they usually release those over 70, and those with less than a year to serve and also they release quickly on parole, those guilty of non violent crimes.

Some (many) have been "persuaded" to invest their capital in houses, farms, other ventures, cars and so on. Some will have lost the lot, others will stay to at least enjoy some benefits of their "investment". 

 

The alternative is to cut your losses and go home - but start over again, in what is now a strange, expensive country, on a pension income?

 

I know several like that - they take it out on their keyboards. Luckily new keyboards are only a couple of hundred Baht!

It appears that Thailands new motto could be “ Do the crime but not the time “ every prisoner incarcerated in Thai prisons should apply in there 1,000s for clemency leading to a pardon regardless of the crime they have committed and any prisoner of ill health should be released immediately

I will remember Thaksin next time I pay the traffic cop 400thb for absolutely no wrong doing.

You cannot blame people in uniforms  here for grabbing what they can, when they can when the country’s highest leadership behaves like this.

Wake up.  Any one with a functioning brain can see exactly where this is heading as the public is being primed for Thaksin's early release. You're average 'other convicts' will be rotting in jail long after Thaksin is a free man.  Average commoners don't get clemency.  Rich, connected, sick, ohhhh so sick and frail somebodies get clemency.

Tony ain't seeing much more time under arrest in a hospital, no less seeing the inside of a prison cell.

Should be placed in house arrest on an ankle bracelet for the full term of the 8 year imprisonment if he is so ill, bet a few days after his release he’ll be out living the high life. Thailand keep insisting that there is justice for all but still we see that rich and poor receive very different treatment
