THREE ISRAELI-MADE UNMANNED aerial vehicles were today (Sep.2) launched for deployment by the Thai air force.

Air force chief ACM Alongkorn Wannarot ceremonially launched the three Dominator XP UAVs, manufactured by Israel’s Aeronautics Defense Systems Co., at Wing 3 air base in Nakhon Sawan.

The medium-altitude/long-endurance UAVs were primarily designed for intelligence-gathering, surveillance and reconnaissance missions over the country’s borders, either over terrains or coastal areas.

Isn't anyone following the war in Ukraine? Drones are really easy to shoot down if you have a radar system and a gun. This is a vehicle for doing reconnaissance over borders, meaning spying for the purposes of invading.

The mess produced Iranian's Shahed-136 kamikaze drone are about 1 tenth in size of the Israeli drone and are suicide drones, while the one above is puerile for surveillance purposes.

Why invading?  Why not spying on say insurgents, drug/people traffickers and potential illegal immigrants in the border areas?

You'd also need something a bit more advanced than just a radar system and a "gun"!

It looks an awful lot like a Diamond DA 42 Twinstar with the cockpit windows sprayed white (this one from Stapleford Flying Club):
