Reckless car drifting stunt in busy Chon Buri intersection sparks outrage

An online video showing a car recklessly drifting in the centre of a major intersection, causing distress among residents, has drawn widespread criticism. The incident occurred last week and was shared recently by a Facebook user.

 

The video depicts the car performing a dangerous drift stunt without any regard for the pedestrians crossing the road or other vehicles halted at the traffic light. The location was later identified as the Kiri intersection on Sukhumvit Road, Huai Kapi, Mueang, Chon Buri.

 

That intersection is a main route towards Bang Saen-Si Racha and is typically bustling with vehicles. Forty-four-year-old Aek, a local motorcycle taxi driver, expressed his concern over the incident. He stated that although it appeared to be a deliberate act of drifting, such behaviour was inappropriate considering the amount of cars and heavy traffic on the main road. He urged individuals to consider the potential danger such actions could cause and denounced it as a bad example.

I just witnessed an hour ago, a farang packing a holiday chick flying down Suthep zigzagging and wobbling nearly hitting a car as he cut in front and nearly hit a motorcycle risking his passengers life, utter stupidity. Complete idiot must have been running from a mob of machete toting swarm.

I made my license at 18 years of age, now I am 76 still driving (not a lot) never had an accident all my life, my last and only ticket was about 30 plus years ago I don't even know what car drifting is?

Drifting has a massive scene here in thailand.

 

Infact there's loads of motorsport here and if you have the money it's easy to get involved on, yes.......even as a farangee.

Over the years, per capita I’ve seen way more farang stupidity on the roads then Thais by far, nearly every day. I did an internet search and was unsuccessful in locating the video.  Sure would be nice to see the evidence.

And judging from the screenshot it was a front wheel drive car so it couldn't have been much of a drift, more like just yanking the handbrake on while steering right and momentarily oversteering.
