I just posted a factual reply to an  opinion post with quotes from reliable sources and a link to said source.

I excluded the name of the poster from the screen shot out of respect for the poster, but I am sure I know  who gave the "Sad" emoji.

And I wonder what in my post made that person sad. , was it the  opinion post was proven wrong by my reply?

IMO there should be only  emojis, "I agree" and I "disagree"  everything else is childish . If someone finds a post funny, they can easily reply "Very funny" such statement aids the conversation, an emoji adds little.

And then , some idiot leaves another sad emoji thinking that he is being clever when all he does id prove the opposite.

So the question is, Why do stupid people think they are smart?

The answer is obvious, because they are stupid!

Yes, duh. I'd be disappointed if it became a free for all for hate speech.

Do i care a lot? No its just passing time. Bob asked you why you care so much. You dodged the question.

I enjoy discussing places in Thailand.

Folk getting uptight about emojis (dear me--inserts rolls eyes emoji) is typically an old man thing... the type that has just discovered email / digital communications, must read real books, and is not yet up to speed. Emojis are merely a quick & easy way of expression--sans the tedium of typing out long-assed TL;DR replies--and are part n parcel of today's online world. Despite churning out thousands of posts in short order, that you may draw a high ratio of dislikes should be telling.

If you're going to make any kind of negative expression to a post you have a moral duty to explain yourself. Anything less is uncivil behavior and cowardly to boot.

Why reply to yourself when you can use an emoji? I can assure you, none of them is mine.

Hate speech?

Could you please define that for me. I want a clear definition from you and how it pertains to 99.9% of posters on this forum. I have been visiting this forum for years and have yet to see anything that even remotely resembles hate speech.

You are too sensitive and have convinced yourself that when someone disagrees with you they must be doing it from a position of hate. There is nothing that is even remotely acceptable about that.

There are very few interactions that can be genuinely classified as hate speech and you have taken that emotive umbrella term and are using it to fit your own skewed narrative. Shame on you!

You've never seen hate speech here because you don't agree that any speech should be so labeled.

I'll do it for you then.

Hate speech is defined by the Cambridge Dictionary as "public speech that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation"

I don't see how having a disagreement online or posting a negative emoji fits anywhere into that definition.

Right so adults use emojis because they cannot talk like adults. That makes as much sense as the 70yo guy who writes like a 4yo.....

No, we use them because we can't be bothered responding to a sad poster.

Hint, hint............????

In wasn't referring to this thread in particular. To suggest that nobody posts hate speech on this site is ludicrous.

Never confused or sad. The middle finger would simplify thngs.

Again, I haven't seen anything like hate speech on this forum ever, as it is defined in the dictionary.

Yes!. They are means to troll or effectively enable posting a sad emoji on a post in a way that makes an offensive statement. Emojis are not typically moderated, they are a weak point.

That's just because you get a lot.....................................................????
