Gordon Ramsay’s group set to open 14 restaurants in Thailand

Gordon Ramsay Restaurants has announced a new multi restaurant partnership with Thailand’s leading lifestyle operator, TANACHIRA Group.

 

As the restaurant group continues its ambitious expansion plans across Asia, where recent openings include four restaurants in South Korea and two restaurants in Malaysia, the partnership with TANACHIRA will immediately focus on opening two restaurants in the highly anticipated Emsphere Mall in Bangkok, opening on the Sukhumvit Road, December 2023, with a further twelve locations planned in the coming years.

 

The Emsphere Mall promises to be a go-to modern, luxury, retail destination, offering immersive shopping and dining experiences to both local residents and global travellers.

 

On the Mall’s ground floor, will be Bread Street Kitchen & Bar, a stylish and sophisticated, yet approachable all-day dining restaurant and bar. The menu features Gordon Ramsay classics including Beef Wellington, Fish & Chips and must have sides like Gordon’s delicious Macaroni cheese, as well as the world-famous Gordon Ramsay Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Good for the locals seeking mouth thrills in foreign food...but for foreigners who spend in Thailand, no interest to come here and eat foreign food.

You don't know that, perhaps tourists could never afford to go in his "cafes" in their home country, and what a photo opportunity.....????..........????

 

Plus, I reckon many a tourist will be thinking of McD's or B-King anyhooo, after a couple of days of Thai grub.........????

I would rather trust me pennies with an italian or a french Chef in that case...but tastes are like good BJ's in "very" happy soapy endings..they are all different????

What are you talking about? The majority of people eating at foreign restaurants are foreigners in the first place. It is only people on tight budgets that dominate the ''i eat only thai food because it is cheaper'' and then a minority who simply only likes thai food.

I would actually already want to go and check it out for the fish and chips, beef wellington and macaroni cheese.

Didn't Jamie Oliver have a restaurant or restaurants in Thailand? How did that go? Maybe Gordon Ramsay could make a success of one or two restaurants if lucky, but 14 outlets? Guess he's not investing his own money but simply licensing (for a hefty fee no doubt), use of his name/brand to the Tanachira group. Perhaps his only potential loss is reputation.

i have seen this clowns youtube videos of his trips to Thailand before.

Total cringe. He has no idea, and can not even handle mildly spicy food. 

 

Easy to come up with 'tasty' food in England which is famous foractually having terrible cuisine. The bar is set very low.

He only got popular on TV from the way he carries on like an old mole, whining about everything, not because his bland food is actually any good.

 

But Thailand cuisine is up there with the best in the world, Thai restaurants popular and numerous all over the globe, and numerous dishes make top 100s every single survey. 

Cant recall ever seeing a "English Restaurant" being popular. It tastes like krap, but blander.

 

Thais will think his food is tasteless, he doesnt know how to balance flavours, as proven by his old Thailand youtube content. Pepper and salt anyone?

That you think that hamburger junk food made by an American clown is better than Thai cuisine I think reflects more on your tastes than most tourists.

I did mean KFC as an example of non Thai food , rather than specifically a KFC , I will amend my post for you

In Dubai I don’t eat Arabic food every meal !!!..,  there’s a good Ramsay restaurant on the Palm.

 

One of the amazing things about Thailand is extent of the range & quality of the food from all over the world. 
 

The assumption by some that foreigners here only want Thai food all the time is very flawed.

Well, if they were out for the average Thai, good luck with that... Even some well-to-do Thais are nowadays 'careful with money' when it comes to restaurant visits. Still plenty of expats in Bangkok as a possible clientele.

In any good international restaurant in BKK (at least) there is a fairly even mixture of foreigners and Thais. 
 

Places such as El Mercado, Helena, Cocotte, Kai & loads more…

Even places with good Pub-grub such as the Londoner attract a lot of Thai customers…

You should go to Gordon Ramsey's new restaurant and tell him how to cook food , quite sure he would appreciate the advice on how food should be cooked

Very true, although perhaps not McD or BK… but I definitely crave a good burger after a while, as do many others, hence, the ‘best burger in…’ threads….

 

When back in the Uk I also crave good Thai food.., 

When in Thailand I often crave a good curry, good sashimi, a good steak&ale pie, raviloi, Shabu, good Thai seafood etc etc  

Variety at a reasonable price is what makes Thailand awesome. 
 

& yes, occasionally a BK will hit the spot !!!!

There's quite a big monetary difference between buying a retirement chalet in Switzerland and eating in a restaurant in Bangkok
