Trying to salvage something from the devastating turn of events post election.

PTP tore up their election promises and stabbed MFP in the back  to get into power and even turned against their own followers.

This is an olive branch to win favour back from their former loyal followers so that they may have a future in the next election.

MFP  made election promise about 112 who made them winning some more than PT ..... but impossible to for fill 112, so they blocked themself this way

Nothing wrong with MFP ....only young hubris

He doesn't need to become  PM. He wasn't PM the last time PT were in power, his sister was. It didn't stop him being in control.

Agree......but he wasn't here then.

Pulling the puppets strings from Dubai is wholly different to what we have now.

Fortunately, most of the electorate don't like it either.

Yes , it starts , better accept it, .

he is to become PM in waiting ????

Well it could be, although I am not saying it actually is, a step in the right direction as unlike the last two PMs, one of which was only a PM because of his soldiers, tanks, and guns, he was actually elected at one time.

Quite! Thaksin flew with  his jet (as long as the poor old man was not so sick yet) to a birthday bash with his good dictator buddy Hun Sen and family owned Cambodia and seeing that, probably gave him the idea again of reintroducing the old Shinawatra "dear leadership". What's next ? Does he still have his little stop sign to show to journalists when he considers enough annoying free speech? Or has he already handed that over to the unelected Prime Suspect, you know the one whose constant glued on grin makes one believe he likes people more than real estate? It will cost the Thais dearly although his propaganda will do the OTOP-job again .....thousands of basket weaving villages. A very sinister thinking person could actually believe this whole election carnival was a plot between the uniformed "..." and the money to definitely exclude anyone who really gets elected to change things. Aaah, what fun. Feels like ancient Rome, the patricians take it all.

" Does he still have his little stop sign to show to journalists when he considers enough annoying free speech?"

If not, can't he get one at Khao San Road"?

You mean shadow PM.

Thaksin no doubt funded this campaign, paying off everyone they needed to get the guy into office.

He's back everyone and so is the massive corruption.

But frankly, Thaksin running the country could be what Thailand needs. The leadership has been poor since he left.

Maybe the country will run more smoothly now.

Yes and get more Baht for your GBP. It has gotten worse since 2014, and the way I see it, manipulated by an unelected PM and his soldiers.

Let's hope so. He got away with

it last time though.

Yet, the second time around was highly questionable - and the manipulated/corrupted mechanics, thereof - as to if it was real. Recent historic perspectives will be quite variable as to the legitimacy of it all.

My understanding is that Srettha wishes to learn from Thaksin’s experience and capabilities,” said Phumtham, who is also commerce minister, adding that he will look into the legality of such a move.

Such compassion is rare in Thailand, allowing a aged, fragile sick person to work from his hospital bed.

Never thought I'd see the day.
