Orthopedics services, respiratory problems, prices. at CM at Bangkok Hospital, Chiang Mai Ram, McCormick ?

Hi, I just finished a horrible experience of 6 days at RJveg: indifferent nursing care. Doctors not in-house. Bill kited, battle over services i did not ask for. Gotto go back in after falling at home, and passing out.and unable to get up.

 

My mistake to choose the less expensive !

 

Please share your experience, with services an prices. AFAIK CM Bangkok is most expensive..

Have you tried Dr Chanakarn? I have had very good treatments spanning a decade at very reasonable prices. He works at various hospitals around CM but also has a clinic on Charoenprathet from 17:30 to 19:00 hrs nightly, walk in no appointment necessary. If surgery is needed you can choose your hospital. He is extremely busy and as he is team doctor to the national sports team he is away from CM from time to time. But he is my first choice for orthopedic matters.

I choose hospitals with JCI creditation . The Joint Commission International is a group of retired American professionals who inspect and help to improve hospital standards and quality of care. Sadly they don’t control prices so expect a big bill. CMR I have used a lot over the years and took many clients there when I was working. If they haven’t got a specialty they would refer you to the appropriate hospital. Lanna hospital is cheaper and has a good orthopedic service. Maharaj hospital also has a good ortho service.

An Australian neighbor/ friend of mine recently passed. He used the government cheap hospitals.

 I advised him to CMR, he went and was offered to stay overnight for more tests, but his wife declined saying he didn’t have enough money! He died shortly after, she must be happy, says he drank too much alcohol, but has the house, car and his 800K for herself.

Insurance Companies has pushed hospital prices up sky high!

I'm sorry the OP had a bad experience at Rajavej. I had a major orthopedic problem (badly broken shoulder, broken hip) and was admitted as an emergency. From the moment I was admitted, the treatment I received was top class; this included a team of specialists - orthopedic surgeon, hematologist and one other I forget, Surgery took seven hours and the post surgery follow-up followed the most modern techniques available in Europe and included two months of physiotherapy sessions from a newly qualified Chiang Mai University physiotherapist . Over the next year I had regular consultations with the surgeon.

My room, while plain, was large and had a comfortable bed for my wife. 

In short I'm happy to sing the praises of Rajevej to anyone who cares to listen and my wife and I use its services, including the annual health checkup and vaccinations,  pretty regularly.

Been going to Mccormick's for my Halux Limitus (No cartilage in the big toe joint) and they can only do cortisone shots and recommended Dr. Chanakarn. Was told to come in next week and got a message today that he won't be back until the 10th-14th.
