Warning! Warning! UTUBE Has Warned me: No More Blocker!

Recommended Posts

I pay for youtube $15 a month. I did hesitate at first but I watch it a lot and well worth it. Pay $8 for Netflix. No complaints. Pay $40 a month for Foxtel in Australia. Now that is a waste but it has some things like recording and access to good aps and has good news and some other stuff so keep it for now. I am in Australia. Posting here because.

"I am not prepared to pay for "Premium"..."

It's sad if that is beyond your means but B159 per month is dirt cheap to get rid of the annoyance completely.

It's good, not sad.

UTUBE is the new boob tube.

Google's plan to increase revenue through ads and storage subscriptions on me will fail miserably.

Truth be told, I waste too many hours on UTUBE.

What might I use an extra 10 hours per week for?

Certainly not posting topics on TV.

No.

I'm thinking about building a radio telescope in my yard.

Sort of like a mini SETI.

OR, I could set up a HAM Radio station and talk to the North Koreans.

10 hours per week is enough time to do almost anything.

There are always ways around things. You can download the videos for free or you can splash out on a ‘premium’ subscription for as little as 55 baht a month if YouTube is a useful resource to you. But so far I don’t see any ads anyway, so no need to panic nor overdramatise…

I don't get ads when I view YouTube on my tablet or PC, but I get plenty when I watch it on the Android Smart TV.

Your choices of reading and music are unusual to say the least. Philip Roth isn't any particularly memorable read, and Vivaldi operas are again not exactly the top of the heap. Anyone who writes almost 100 operas, most of them are trash and the fact that the vast n=majority off his output is lost means it wasn't worth copying.

You mean you earn "creator tokens" and sell those tokens for USD cash?

How many hours does it take to earn that $10?

I work online, and don't actually watch the videos. We occasionally I do, if they are good. Usually just playing the background when working.

In Australia beside YT Premium, I have Fetch, for which I pay a $6 monthly subscription, and includes recording etc.

YT Premium also includes a higher resolution on some videos and access to YT Music on my Google Home with no ads and the ability to select my favourite music.

This is a GOOD THING, because, in my opinion, UTUBE videos, the popular ones, just rot your brains, as if most of you even had a brain.

If you had a brain you would know the site is called YouTube, not UTube.

And maybe write a novella about the ship of fools I've met on TV.

And while you're so consumed with insulting other posters here due to your superior intellect, this site has been AN (Asean Now) for a long time now, not TV.

You really seem to struggle with the names of sites you access, don't you. Why you want to come on here and rant in a manner that suggests you're an idiot, I have no idea. But you've done a very good job of it.

1,590 baht for 12 months Premium which includes UT Music worth it for no ads IMHO

Agreed. I have Premium and the music streaming service is fabulous... including download all my playlists to my devices.  Well worth the money.

As I say, there is NO WAY I will pay for UTUBE.

Google KEEPS most of the money, and shares very little with CREATORS.

Also, there are many better ways for creators to be paid by viewers, rather than ad revenue.

Also, many of the UTUBE stuff I watch has been "defunded"

And, Google stuffs videos with TOO MANY ads per few, anyway.

So, what about this alternative?

Ever tried it?

https://freetubeapp.io/

Or, has this already been mentioned by someone.

I still think I should not watch UTUBE, but if I do, then I will not watch ads.

IF the ads UTUBE showed to me were interesting and useful to me, then I would obviously watch the ads.

BUT, Google STILL does not know how to create ads that I would be grateful to watch.

Google also does not yet know what I like, or what I would be willing to buy.

Google SAYS it knows what I like, what I dream about at night, and when I will have a baby, but actually they do not.

What a load of Hot Wind, is Google.

Bunch of Blowhards.

And yet many many creators earn some very decent coin from the vids they upload.

Here's the top ten for 2021.

1. MrBeast – $54 million
2. Jake Paul – $45 million
3. Markiplier – $38 million
4. Rhett & Link – $30 million
5. Unspeakable – $28.5 million
6. Like Nastya – $28 million
7. Ryan Kaji (Ryan’s World) – $27 million
8. Dude Perfect – $20 million
9. Logan Paul – $18 million
10. Preston – $16 million

I have the same problem!

LG smart tv with webios as a browser!

I have all the necessary no ad options  checked in the settings!

But to no avail!I might add it’s getting ridiculous . It started well over a year ago with  a 5 second ad.

Now at times they ,Yt  has increased it ! 2 ads within the same multiple interruptions!

I agree with you on the ADS point.
But not only YouTube.
It's becoming a pest everywhere and the ADS are becoming more and more annoying by the day.
Now, Google has found a new type of AD which pops-up in front of the button which need to be pushed causing an accidental pust on the AD.
ASEANNOW seems happy to use this kind of AD.

Why don't you want to pay ?

Should the content makers work for free and not get paid for their job ?

Are you a free loader who wants everything for free and doesn't like paying for things ?

Youtube has always been free! They've introduced ads a couple of years ago through which we will have to sit now, but it's still free. You can choose to get rid of the ads by paying a monthly fee, but that's a choice, not a must. So I have no idea what the OP is all about! Sounds like someone is trying to scam him by impersonating Youtube or its a troll post. .

Does YouTube have advertisements?  Somebody also mentioned pop ups on this site. I've never seen either. People are welcome to pay as much or watch as many ads as they want if it makes them feel better about their entertainment choices, just know that if paying for what everyone else gets for free isn't your bag there are browsers that block the annoying drivel so you can enjoy the content without interruption or getting a bill at the end of the month.   Brave is my choice of browser, but there must be others.

I couldn't find anything on investopedia about Gabor's Theory of the LDOP (lame dupe overpayer) though, so perhaps an economist will drop into the thread and explain it for the laypeople.

.EDU Unlimited storage is also kaput now.

I will not pay.

I will downgrade storage needs from 20 TB to 2 TB.

I will get my life back.

I only buy a smartphone once every dozen years.

But, now, I plan to buy 2 x 8 TBYTE HDDs, and store my data locally.

But, will PornHub continue to be ad free?

Not a troll post, by any means.

I will post a UTUBE pop-up stating UTUBE policy next time it appears.

Here is the POPUP UTUBE NOTIFICATION that has been popping up quite constantly these past few days.

I do not know what benefit Google thinks it will reap by showing me this garbage.

I will NOT pay.

Google can go soak its head in sea, for all I care...
