Hi folks, i am a newbie here, just got back to Uk after visiting for Muay Thai and business and fell in love whilst in Thailand.........................I met a real sweety and i am planning to bring her to UK for 6 months to see how things work out on a permanent 24/7 type relationship then if all is well we plan to get married in her village and then return to settle in UK up until i retire.

I have friends in Immigration here in UK as i am serving Police Officer who regularly works with immigration service so they can point me in right direction with regards to visa's for both way visits etc etc.

I have 2 young children in UK with good access so wont be planning to live in Thailand for at least next 18 years (when i retire) therefore i have discussed with my GF that as she has no trade or skills other than factory work then i will set up a massage business in UK if she gets qualified.

She is with her family in Nong Khai at the moment and they have farm etc, now all i need to do is find a Massage school that will provide qualifiactions that will enable her to run business back home.

I have previously worked in leisure/holistic treatment industry and know a lot about the business here in UK and i think that this type of business will provide her with more than enough money, independence and also give her a feeling of pride at being a UK business owner without having to work anyway near as hard as she does on the farm at home. I have Muay Thai schools in Uk and also business interest in members only gym too.

I could comfortably keep her and her family if needed but she has refused for me to do this on a permanent basis.

I am asking the members here if anybody knows of a good school that will teach her massage to a quality level in the Issaan region, preferbly Nong Khai or Udon area? She speaks good English although wants to improve!!!!! Can write English reasonably well and is intelligent so i think the business will be a winner in UK. I know of famous schools that will provide training in BKK and Chiang Mai but as she has family in Issaan would prefer local training as i know she will be safe when i am here in UK.

Any comments on schools or business idea would be welcome.

Nice to be a member here i have read a lot of threads and topics and gained loads of valuable information ref the region, its customs, the people, and also the plus and minus points.............

Thanks to you all

Lee...With all respects about your wishes, good willin heart, try to send her at Wat Po in BKK...There she can get a certificate recognized all over the world-in that type of business...You said you want she be SAFE...In what way Lee?What's wrong if she will stay for a while in BKK?She is in her own country and she is SAFE,no doubt...What can happen to her in BKK?Also,i see that you have a great vision about the future with her...She didn't ask anything-you said...For how long you are with her mate?

PM me here or you can mail to me [email protected] ...

Lee, there's a massage shop in Nongkhai called "Healthy Garden", just by the Thasadej market. They are without a doubt the best masseurs/masseuses in NK, and I'm sure they could help out your GF with any questions she has.

From previous conversations I've had with them, most massage shops will give your GF on-site training but the real qualification "that matters", is from Wat Po in Bangkok.

Saying this, most Thais that I speak to about the subject of massage tell me that standards have slipped over the years at a certain well known school in Bangkok, ensuring that the true methods of teaching Thai massage will diminish in time. Its just a name, they tell me!!

Thanks folks, will probably make the BKK school the one due to its perceived status within the industry.

Any members here have any experience of a similar venture?
