What are you having for Dinner tonight?

Featured Replies

Yesterday I was spoilt again with a luxury menu:

Tomato with Basil, some olives, Burrata (Mozzarella filled with Stracciatella), Porchetta (stuffed pork roast with herbs) and a Fogaccia.

I just love italian food...

It might taste nice, but wow it looks so @%^$#&^....food has to look at least appetising to some extent.

That's absolutley ok for me.

... in that case you will never make the experience how any dish from any culture can taste like which might look strange for you. It's only in your head that "it has to look like..."

Ricotta and spinach you can find often inside of Ravioli or Canneloni - if you ever ate fresh handmade pasta.

Trying to eat more fish these days.

At least once a week, grilled mackerel with rice & lots of salad. 🐟 👍

Now that looks tasty.

My wife took the last of some Issan sausages out of the freezer, these are really tasty, her friend has a factory where they make all sorts of stuff and ship around Thailand, I must say these are the best Ive tasted,

Looks very good to me.

My wife came home with a case of beer Lao. Half IPA and the other dark. Time for me to do a long slow cook. Ribs, with Cajun potato salad, some pinto beans with Dixie sausage, and garlic bread. We did slowly enjoy our meal.

Looks great. Brit food - for me yes. I used to eat madras/vindaloo curry at least once a week when I lived in Blighty.

Yes, Indian is now the national cuisine in Britain.  Fantastic food.

Is that the 7-11 Chicken Tikka Masala?

Actually not a fan of Indian, except this and another offered by same vendor ... See below ...:cheesy:

Well spotted yes it is 😎

Is the Indian food in Britain "adjusted" for local palates, or can you wreck a toilet with the traditional heat?

Indian food can be heavy but definately the most delicious and seems to be better Chefs in Thailand even compared to some middle level restaurants in New Delhi or Bombay (Mumbai). But the indian restaurants in Thailand need to be wary and not get greedy. Their prices are fast catching up with the prices of same level restaurants in Europe. Tourists may come but they spend far less. So the restaurants need to cater to the foreigners living for long stay who obviously are not as foolish as the 2 week tourist millionnaires who do not look that much at the prices, thanks to a good exchange rate with the THB.
