Thank you, I have already made contact, though I want to do a test first with some printed paper on my mirror to see if my old eyes will focus on something close without removing my driving glasses, I suspect they may not.

The guy may have a seal with camera fitted ( the Bangkok guy has) in which case you could see it in real time.

It is very much “ in your face “ and I turned it back to its normal position after having it turned towards me , I suspect it will be too much at night time although it has brightness control and I haven’t tried to adjust.

It is also easy to turn off with a button on the underside of the mirror, it then is just a normal mirror.

I just had my car back from being wrapped, he's done an excellent job.  A cautionary note, when he was wrapping the back bumper, it removed some paint from the bumper, a piece fell off, fortunately it

So just 2 offices BKK and CM?

I think I will contact them and see if we can meet at a mutually convenient point.

Hi everyone, I don't think this has been touched on in this thread.

I was wondering if anyone got the native Spotify app to work on the car with the supplied/built in SIM card. After about a week I have been told by the dealership that Spotify won't work with the SIM card, only if you connect WiFi like a hotspot from your phone? Seems illogical to me. Furthermore, the SIM card is supplied from Singapore, hence the R in the 4G logo on the top right of the screen.

I don't feel confident that the person I spoke to really knows what they're talking about, but perhaps what they said is true? Does anyone have any insight on this? If this is true, can the SIM card be switched out to one that I can get locally?

Thanks!

Spotify works absolutely fine for me.   Logged in no problem at all, haven't tried listening to Hank Williams though .  I haven't changed the data provider nor have I connected to my home wifi as yet - it just worked out of the box for me once I'd picked up the car and logged into my Spotify account.

I have no audio on my BYD navigation, its not muted at the scroll button in central panel, on the navigation screen itself i have around 1/2 volume

IMG_2163.thumb.jpeg.0d4555e757b816b39478e93ed8aec99a.jpeg

and on the audio tab i have:

i get all the relative beeps from sensors, BYD lady talks to me and music plays from my phone via Apple CarPlay but navigation is silent.

Any thoughts gentlemen ??

Thanks a lot for the feedback! At least I have some ammo when talking to the sales person / service staff =-) Give Hank Williams a try, your Spotify may crash too =-/

All I can tell you is that my navigation has had audio since I first tried it, I think. I may have done something to turn it on but, if I did, I have no idea what that could have been.

Sorry I can't help more.

There's no doubt the operation of the tech in the Seal could be more user friendly.

Mine has the same issue.  Everything looks set up correctly, but there's no sound on navigation.  If I'm listening to music then it quietens the music as if it's trying to provide me with guidance, but there's no sound that then comes out.

I had the same problem - finally I had the glorious idea to tell the BYD lady to turn audio back on for navigation.......lo and behold, she did. I had to do it a few times already.

Although am only trying it in the garden, so maybe it wants to wait until i am actually moving ?

Who knows ?

There are some anomalies on the voice commands, maybe based on Atto 3 commands listas i tend to get this suggestion frequently:

So, some feedback from my Sinjet cameras, will attempt to upload some videos for you to see for yourself the resolution between Sinjet and the BYD Dash cam.

The Sinjet videos (5 mins) are around 240mb and the BYD videos (5 mins) are around 175mb, Sinjet only has video lengths of 30 sec, 1 min and 5 mins, while BYD has 1,3 and 5 min options, i would prefer 3 mins but c'est la vie.

NOTE: BYD files are mp4, Sinjet files are .TS format, while they will play on my laptop i had to convert to mp4 to download here.

The time lapse video on Sinjet records a video only when it senses movement, front and back, as the frame size is 1 frame per second you end up with a 5 minute video covering 2 hours, but it appears to work well.

The window film guy put those pieces of paper to avoid using the windows during the 7 day period, why he put them on the windscreen and the glass roof also is anybody's guess !

BYD Front:

Sinjet Front:

( there is sound i promise you, it was set at low volume with medium and high above that )

Sinjet Rear:

SinJet time lapse rear:

(skip forward to 50 seconds cat lovers )

Conclusion: Resolution is okay on both, not as good as a 70Mai or similar but okay.

The speed and accelerating/braking symbols on the BYD dash cam is a definite advantage but the lack of audio an oversight.

Sinjet rear view streaming a good tool but have found it a little distracting especially on the highway but not so much in town, currently set to turn off screen after 1 min (or 3 mins ) a simple tap on the mirror brings it to life.

It is installed and done and like insurance i hope i never need to use it but am certain if required will provide good proof of guilt.

Navigation with sound on mine. Remember seeing Turn by Turn navigation on the HUD, but now not

Seen a few posts on FB about an OTA update taking around an hour, so those who are due might not have to wait for long.

Apparently this is what is in the update:

I just checked mine again.

Yes, I have the vocal guidance working, but her voice only comes from the front passenger side of the car. Anyone know how to fix that??

Well judging by the different numbers on the Thai guy’s updated software detail to mine there’s some new stuff coming thick and fast, which is good to see.

( I don’t have the daytime driving light switch, the BYD store or the karaoke, not that I am interested tbh )

Regarding the latest Seal software update:

I see that, with the latest update, the pedestrian alert sounds will be gone with no way to turn them back on. Although I don't like them, I would really prefer to have them and have the option of turning them on and off; kinda funny!

I'll miss them.

For a start, what am I gonna do with the freezer full of Häagen-Dazs ice cream?

Invite all the kids from the neighborhood........and their parents

But then again - I believe your conclusion is wrong, from the demos I have seen from local owners, after the update the pedestrian warning can be turned on and off.

Car is updating right now, cant test it myself until later.

I am not sure that is correct, I posted shortly after getting my Seal that they have added another button ( AVAS ) which is on the “swipe down from the top page “ and acts like a master switch.

If you are not aware of this then, yes , it doesn’t appear you can actuate the sounds anymore and can only change from Standard to Brand for the indicator sounds ( maybe other sounds also ).

That is how mine is currently, the new update might be different but I suspect that they haven’t seen the AVAS button.

See my post Nov 30th, halfway down page 9.

Anyone wishing to risk buying a used Seal Premium then this sounds like a good buy.

Does anyone know if installing Google Maps is still possible or if they've completely patched the installing of apps?

So, today while driving i noticed the red dot 🔴 and clicking on it gave me this:

IMG_2229.thumb.jpeg.f14c60e9bfae94492edb374293435a41.jpeg

Now at 22% .

I didn’t authorise this or anything it just started, maybe i will have to authorise to upload ?

This is a first !

I'm unable to turn this on, don't have an option anywhere within settings and AVAS is not on the swipe down from the top menu.  Like you, I'm a bit sad to not be able to sound like a spaceship whilst cruising thru the moobaan, I'd been hoping to feel all futuristic and all that!
