I always used my mouse on my laptop but recently it is not responding my commands It just moved up and down can't control the movement buy a new mouse? Or other problems?

Change the battery, restricted mouse movement is the first sign of an empty battery

    Sometimes poor mouse response is because the optical sensor on the bottom of the mouse is dirty,  I use a Q-tip and some window cleaner to clean it.  I also periodically wash my mouse pad.
