I thought this was a dongle that I could put a data SIM card in for internet wifi hotspot but I'll be damned if I can figure out where the SIM card goes. What is it?  Thanks!20231102_171017.thumb.jpg.fbc58551e6fec19fd6001231f03d222c.jpg20231102_171008.thumb.jpg.68aa2e49164da42b060580862b7423e1.jpg

the picture shows a wifi dongle, looks similar to but not a wifi modem which has a slot for sim card.

Thanks!  I still don't quite understand it's purpose.  You plug it into a device that already has an internet connection and it creates a wifi hotspot?

No, you plug it into a device that has NO internet, and it creates a connection to the internet via a mobile network, which depends on your service provider, AIS, DTAC etc. That device can then possibly provide a WiFi hotspot for other WiFi users by acting like a phone.

Actually that's sorta slick.  I may have to buy one for when the power goes out and takes the Wifi router with it.

Model number will be shown when you remove the cover.
Usually they just support a few LTE Bands; say B1, B3 and perhaps one other. Can find them on AliExpress from as little as the equivalent of US$5.
