webfact Posted November 13, 2023 Share Posted November 13, 2023 A woman unfamiliar with her route plunged her car into a ditch while following GPS directions to visit a friend in Banglamung, Chon Buri. Rescue officials rushed to the scene following the GPS mishap, which occurred around 2.30am today. The distress call was received by the Pattaya City Bright Prosperity Rescue Centre, reporting a car accident with injuries near Nong Ta San Village, Khaomai Kaew, Banglamung, Chon Buri. Rescue volunteers hurried to investigate the situation. In the relatively dark accident site, a Suzuki Swift with Rayong license plate number Kor-1095 was found in a roadside ditch about 1 metre deep. The vehicle was damaged, and the driver, known as Kanya, a 32 year old factory worker, suffered minor injuries. Initial medical treatment was provided by paramedics, who also coordinated with officials to retrieve the car from the ditch following this unprecedented GPS mishap. Upon questioning, Kanya explained that she was using GPS to navigate to a friend’s house in the unfamiliar area of Khaomai Kaew. While she was driving, the GPS warned of an upcoming left turn. As she turned, her car lost control and immediately fell into the ditch. Fortunately, the ditch was not very deep, sparing her from severe injuries.
