Water quality testing - Pattaya - Does anyone know a lab that performs the testing and the cost.

Featured Replies

Just drilled a well a few weeks ago, and I would like to get the water tested for both purity and to determine what I will need for a whole house filtration system.  In the USA it is a government requirement that all wells get tested so they provide the testing.  I have done a google search but don't find what I think are truly testing centers.  A lot of them are pool companies which I suspect do not do a very detailed job of determining what is in the water.

Has anyone else used a service whether in Pattaya or mail in and can share that information.

I dont know about Pattaya, but here in Phuket they used have a lab in the government hospital that I used some years ago, as for your filter, best to install a Point of Entry filter, I used Zeolite as the media everything works fine,

Hospitals are geared towards blood tests, although they may be able to test for some parameters in well water.

I would suggest a university, most would have a chemistry department with analytical equipment of various kinds.

For well water, the obvious candidates are fecal/total coliforms, total dissolved solids, and heavy metals. Some groundwater sources in Asia are heavy on nitrates.

Don't know about Pattaya, other places I think them agricultural colleges/universities usually have labs that provide such service.
