BREAKING NEWS Virginia Giuffre, Fierce Advocate and Epstein Survivor, Dies by Suicide at 41
The empathy shown on this thread for a deeply troubled woman reminds me how many sociopathic creeps there are on ASEAN. -

Tipping
Good point. This is something farang don't understand. For a Thai, it means: tipping is not routinely expected, not at all. And it is not these ridiculous amounts (20 Baht, 40 Baht - for heavens sake) farangs discuss endlessly about. Thais tip, if they are really happy, and I mean really happy. And then, they may tip a lot. Examples: hairdresser quoted 100B, customer gave 200. 2 nurse helpers who treated a well-off patient over months got 100,000 B each (they saved his leg) (in my home country, we would give 20$, 50$ would be considered a lot). Normally, Thais don't tip at all. -

Why Zelensky Won’t Bargain Away Crimea — No Matter the Pressure
Totally agree, but Putin will never allow himself to be seen to back down - as he truly hates the West. It's a sad reality, but I think that it is inevitable that Ukraine will need to give up Crimea - yes, I am aware it its constitution; I am not saying I agree with this one bit, but it will be the only way to end the war. As for NATO (without the U.S.) and the eu "army", I hope they are not foolish enough to get involved. -

Trump's pharma tariffs would raise US drug costs by $51 billion annually, report finds
More Trump tariff madness... As the article below further notes, about 30% of pharmaceutical imports to the U.S. in 2023 were ingredients used in U.S. manufacturing and then exported or sold in the United States. Meaning slapping tariffs on those imports would in turn hurt the competitiveness of, and raise prices for, the U.S.'s own domestic drug production. Encourage and promote U.S. domestic drug production, yes. But slap costly tariffs on imported drugs and then raise drug prices for U.S. consumers, no thanks!!! Reuters April 25, 2025 Report commissioned by main US pharma lobby Warns 25% pharma tariff would add $51 bln a year to US drug costs - report estimates If fully passed on, tariffs would boost US drug prices by 12.9% LONDON, April 25 (Reuters) - A 25% U.S. tariff on pharmaceutical imports would increase U.S. drug costs by nearly $51 billion annually, boosting U.S. prices by as much as 12.9% if passed on, a report commissioned by the industry's U.S. trade group and reviewed by Reuters shows. The analysis, conducted by Ernst & Young, found the United States imported $203 billion in pharmaceutical products in 2023, with 73% coming from Europe -- primarily Ireland, Germany and Switzerland. Total U.S. sales of finished pharmaceuticals that year were $393 billion. ... Pharmaceutical products have long been spared from trade wars due to the potential harms, but he [Trump] has repeatedly threatened a 25% tariff on pharmaceutical imports. Last week, the Trump administration announced probes into pharmaceutical imports, citing national security concerns over reliance on foreign drug production. I can't even open a bank account in Thailand but yet I'm expected to pay Thai tax?
DTV is not a Non-Imm visa. It's essentially a multiple-entry tourist visa with 5 year validity
