How's the weather in Australia (Melbourne) in April ?

Featured Replies

Hoping to do a trip to Australia. How would be the weather in April? Rainy?

Any reliable site to search for accommodation (for about 3 weeks) at a reasonable cost?

As this is our first trip to Aussie, any helpful info will be much appreciated.

Thank you

It's a nice time of year to go. March is still fairly warm for the end of summer and May tends to be quite cold with some rain. Though it seems in recent years early May is still nice meaning April tends to be pleasant with the odd warm day, some cool to cold days, but general pleasant say low 20's. For accommodation it would be all the usual sites - don't know of cheaper options except maybe Airbnb.

Melbourne can have 4 seasons in one day. Good luck.

Melb is crap unless you go in October for spring racing.

Go to Adelaide. Do wine tours. Then go Alice Springs and see Uluru.

In April Melbourne can have nice sunny hot or warm days, and cold windy raining days. And it can have them all on the same day at that time of year. It all depends on the wind direction - from north is hot/warm (deserts), from south (antarctic) is cold.  The BOM website is Government run and is as accurate as they can be.  Melbourne Forecast (bom.gov.au)

Here's a tip for you.  It can also depend on how far away a city is from the equator.  Who would have thought it?  :cheesy:
